Imitation Is The Sincerest Form of Flattery

Chelsea, Man U, and Man City have all stalked our targets in the past.

It's very irritating having your rivals trying to pip you at every opportunity. And even more frustrating when they pull it off.

What I find funny though, is how Tottenham are mentioned alongside us every single time.

Fair enough, when Man U, Chelsea and Man City linked with the same player, I feel disappointed as they'll most probably outbid us, offer more money, etc.

But, with all due respect, when Tottenham's mentioned, I feel nothing.
No fear, no excitement, absolutely nothing.

In fact, my eyes have somehow trained itself to ignore the word 'Tottenham' when it comes to this subject.
It filters it out.

The question is, what do they want. Tottenham, what do you want? Money? No? What then?
Why do you feel the need to hire private detectives to follow our every move?
Have you bribed our scouts?

As they say: "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". This is one of countless reasons why they will forever dwell in obscurity.

Liverpool are also mentioned

Why would any player even join them over us, there genuinely isn't a single benefit of joining Spurs. Maybe the player has a really big ego and joining Tottenham would make himself feel more important, that is it.

If you honestly think because Arsenal are linked to a player then no other teams have also scouted him then you really need to broaden your horizon and get out of your cocoon. You obviously dont know how football works. Please dont embarass your fellow Arsenal supporters.
For all its worth, we can never truely compete with the likes of teams like Arsenal or those you have mentioned mainly for the reason that we havent consistently been in those Champion league positions and also wages wise, other teams can offer more. You will have the odd occasion where some players might feel it more important to play regularly rather than pick up their hefty wage and play the odd game but in the main yes players will choose the more "successful" teams or teams with more cash. I have no issue with that but its testament to Spurs that we have been able to compete better recently and even attract better calibre of players especially with the way our finances are managed.

The media always claim that 'Spurs hijack Arsenal target' or 'Spurs beat Arsenal to sign____'

Poor journalism. Just like the whole Vertonghen saga. The papers were claiming we had all but sealed the move then Spurs came in and stole him from us.

That was not the case at all. I never even saw us linked to signing him
