Fawaz has tweeted!
Jamal Lacselles has signed a new four year deal with the club.
Delighted!
This is excellent in my eyes, even more impressive that a couple of big teams were sniffing.
Nice to see the youth staying aboard for the ride.
Excellent signing of Ayala too, Jamal should be about ready when Ayala goes back.
Good stuff Fawaz
Jamal pens 4yr deal + Ayala signs 1yr loan

Great stuff, now we need just a proven striker and maybe a winger, and hopefully we might be able to challenge this year!
The future is looking bright!!!

How long has it been since we were this productive in preseason?
It feels almost alien, but good stuff, and still feels like there's one, possibly two signings left in the bag.

we still need at least 1 more defender. i think lascelles would really benefit from a full season out on loan. we need another centre half still.

It is a clever and well thought out set up by the new owners, they clearly want PL football to come to Forest, but they are doing it in such a way, that it will not be at a huge financial cost to get there!
Maybe that is the SOD factor as well!

Can't fault the lad, great potential, has formed a good partnership with barker and brings a touch of class to the team. Very happy with him, can we have him back next season please

Looks good. There's obvious potential. He's quick and his timing in the tackle is superb. 20 is very young for a centre back and there's still many aspects of his game that need working on. He's keen to play the ball from the back, which is good, but all too often he'll float an aimless pass into midfield or out of play. It's not entirely his fault since our midfielders (Bailey aside) don't show for the pass to feet, but on occasions he's frustrated the fans by repeatedly giving away possession. He's good in the air too, even though he gets caught letting the ball bounce every now and again.

Ayala is a good player, and a good size for a CB - big but mobile aswel, think he takes too many chances at times (well for the CCC anyway) as unlike the Premiership when you pass a ball into the middle of the pitch from the back very often the opposotion intercept as there are few players who have the abilty to put their foot on the ball and keep possession. With a run of games I think he would get better and better so would like him on a 12 month loan next year would beneift Derby, liverpool and the player.

He is a quality player, apart from all the attributes already mentioned, I have been most impressed with his composure. He is very relaxed, never gets flustered or rushes. It makes a nice change in the derby team. Would love him back next year!

He was excellent last night. A class act who works really well with Barker. We must explore the option of keeping him.

It would probably benefit all parties for him to have an extended stay. I don't think he is ready for the Premiership just yet but I think he has real class about him. He is likely to get plenty of opportunity to defend while with us, particularly of the basic head it and clear it variety. He already seems to have the ability to read situations and a great touch. Another year of toughening up and you could have a real player on your hands.

AJ - I love the football jargon "We must explore the option of keeping him.!"
I agree with you all 100% but fear it may be a Leon Osman situation. Here's hoping I'm wrong and he comes back next year on a full season loan.

He is a great addition to our defence. His distribution is not great (not bad) but if it was he'd be a Roy MacFarland. I think he is not right!!! for Liverpool so you should let us have him permanently. We have played well since he came and got great results against Swansea and Leeds. If we played Forest now we would beat them hands down.
My thanks to Liverpool and Kenny for him and Brad Jones. Liverpool are my favourite team after Derby

Very well for one so young. Occasionally shows a touch of class that's as rare as pigs with wings at this level.
As others have said sometimes he makes risky decisions, and at the moment I think he'd be found-out playing at your level.
That said the potential's there. Another couple of years and if he continues to develop his game he could be Carragher's replacement for you - though I don't see him developing into the same kind of CB... maybe more in the Alan Hansen mold if things go well for him.
If he was for sale I'd be desparate for us to sign him, but if not a season-long loan next year should be beneficial for all concerned.

Ayala has been great, Brad Jones - hmmmm, not so much (although to be fair it would be entirely understandable if his mind was elsewhere at the moment).

That's true AJ, but he really doesn't look like a £2 million keeper to me. Dare I say it but he doesn't even look as good as Bywater at the moment, although once again his uneven performances may well be due to off the field events.

I really like Ayala, quality at centre-back, possesses confidence, which gives him composure and has formed a useful partnership with Barker. I noticed that Ayala was the one who initiated the move leading to our equaliser against Leeds, giving the ball to Pearson.
I'd welcome him back on a season-long loan if possible.

Should have said, regarding potential, he seems more a ball-playing defender than rugged competitor. Clearly more than good enough for the Championship, the next logical step for Liverpool might be to loan him to a PL side in the lower half.

He's been exceptional alongside Barker. Very classy with the ball, but can do the hard work as well. I hope we can keep him for another season but I doubt it.

Very good defender at this level, good on the ball and reads the game well...the odd lapse in concentration/over-confidence means i'm not sure he's quite ready for the Premier League yet.
WILL be very good, eventually.
I'd love him back for a full season loan alongside Barker next season

Ayala. Really happy about him signing. Has a similar laid back look to him as wilson used to. Ayala however, can pass the ball as well.
Lacselles signing a new deal is brilliant news! When bamford went, I really thought that we'd simply turned into a real mediocre championship club. Feeding the mighty premiership teams that we used to thrash on a regular basis.
This is a very important statement from everyone at the club.
See how the team gels over the first few months of the season. See where we are come Christmas. If we are anywhere near the playoffs - Have a dip into the transfer market, and see what happens!
As everyone else is saying.... I'm
Really happy

Ps. I don't think he would have signed, if he didn't think that he'd get an opportunity of playing in the first team. Which again is an indication of how hopefully we will finally get our youngsters filtering through into the first team again
