Excitement

With the signing of RVP confirmed, along with the signings of Kagawa, Powell and Henriquez this coming season promises a lot.

I hope we go into the season as underdogs and hope City are favourites. This will give us added incentive to push harder and retain the title.

If we are favourites outright then we cant push ourselves to the limit. This season will tell a lot of the charachter and personalities of certain players.

It is an important season for many players such as Anderson, Cleverley, Nani. Anderson and Cleverly have a lot to prove as does Nani who is often criticised for his inconsistency.

I can truly say this is the strongest team / squad since the Ronaldo and Tevez days, i am genuinly excited by the prospects.

I hope Kagawa and RVP settle instantly and with Vidic back i would say we are looking very strong.

I hope we set up like this -

---------------------------- De Gea ----------------------------

Rafeal -------------- Vidic -------- Rio --------------- Evra

------------------- Carrick --------- Anderson --------------

Nani ------------------- Rooney ---------------- Kagawa

----------------------------- RVP -----------------------------

Bench options -

Scholes
Giggs
Welbeck
Valencia
Hernandez
Young
Cleverley
Smalling
Jones
Powell

We will have so many options all over the pitch.

Bring on the new season!

Nani has nothing to prove. Play him right wing and he performs. Simple.

-----------------------------

I absolutely love Nani as a player but he needs to prove to those who doubt him how important he is to us. I still think we are a central midfielder shy, but i think SAF will address that next season when Scholes retires for the second time!

Fitness is key this season, it comes down to that. We have the squad to do it, it's just those freak injuries here and there that really cost us points last season.

If we get Nani and Welbeck to sign new deals this will be the best transfer window for ages.

So pleased at how well Tom and Michael played tonight as well, they were awesome.

Maybe im being optimistic, but i see less injuries this year as SAF will play a consistent 11 without rotating too much. He did that for the first 7 games till we picked up injuries, but we will have a lot of options going forward.

sorry to pick the bones out of your post but.."This will give us added incentive to push harder and retain the title."

surely only city can retain the title?

But I agree with most of your comments! Just a bit unsure of the centre midfield?? and a team without ronaldo is weaker unless george best rises from the grave and eric is carrying him!!

Retain the title we lost! What i meant is that we should be pushing harder to get the title back which is currently City's.

I agree one quality central midfielder and we would be unstoppable.

I think we will be unstoppable, with or without kagawa or van persie. A fit vidic would have won us the title last season. The big question is europe? we were poor last season, have we strengthened enough to be contenders this season?? I went to rome and wembley and got done over by barca both times!! my blood still boils!! But another CL campaign with carrrick/scholes and giggs, I doubt it. but cleverley/anderson/powell??? Who knows? You have to trust the man from govan! But I still think we are a weak in the centre mid department! I just hope SAF plays kagawa in the middle, the boy has got legs and class and is another level above Park. Roll on Monday night!!
