Player ratings for todays match

After watching the game today this is how i thought the players rated -

Friedel - 7 Made a couple of excellent saves but he never comes off his line to try and relieve the pressure on his defenders at set pieces.

Walker - 7 Started the game like an express train making excellent forward runs. Faded in the second half though

Gallas - 7 Used his experience well but was troubled by the power and pace of Lukaku

Vertonghen - 8 Early slip could of cost us but i thought he got better as the game went on. Some superb interceptions. Can see him being a real goal threat for us aswell. Think he is going to be a great player for us.

Benny -7 Swept up behind his centre backs well. good strike for his deflected goal. However he did get turned too easily by Fortune at times.

Livermore - 6 Decent game, like many of his team mates started well but faded. Decent player but will never be good enough to control games.

Sandro - 7 Did well, making good tackles. He should have stayed on the pitch and Livermore should of come off.

Lennon - 6 This guy infuriates me so much. Beats his full back for fun week in week out but his decision making is poor and dosent offer a goal threat.He is an out and out winger not an outside right forward. This is why i hope the rumours that we are back in for Remy are true.

VDV - 6 Passed the ball wonderfully at times, but dropped too deep. Set pieces were woeful again.

Bale 7 Fantastic for the first half hour or so, Bale at his best. Unfortunately faded and anonymous second half especially when he started to drift off the left wing

Defoe 6 Cannot play the lone striker at all. He worked hard and at times a bit too selfish infront of goal. We only see the best of Defoe when he has a strike partner.

Subs - Adebayor -5 Clearly lacks match fitness. Great to see him back at the lane though.

Siggurdsson - 6 Not enough time to create an impression.

Jenas - Did he touch the Ball ?

To summarise, we started the game fantastically, dominating possession and our wing play was superb. Unfortunately the only option was cut backs to Defoe and VDV.
Vertonghen missed a gret chance with a half volley. 2nd half the substitutions of Adebayor and Lukaku changed the game. Adebayor was clearly not match fit wheras Lukaku Terrorised our centre backs.
Albion got the draw they deserved. Big week ahead of us in the transfer window. Its rumoured we are back in for Remy. We also need to replace Luka because we missed him big time today.
