The Sharks future is safe.

I guess this form of cooperative between club, local government & business is the only way out for the lesser clubs in the top leagues. It does concern me that too many RL league clubs both in the UK & Australia are suffering the harsh realities of a weak economies, poor crowds & financial mismanagement.

Bradford Bulls almost went to the wall until a local consortium bought them out. Okay so it is not on the grand scale of what has happened for the Sharks, but all the same some clubs don't seem to be able to cope on their own; and unless they're consistently successful they will continue to struggle - very much a Catch 22 scenario.

I would how many other clubs in the NRL are struggling to stay afloat?

They are on about raising the salary cap in the NRL because of the new TV deal which starts next, but i dont think that should happen until all the clubs are debt free, otherwise the debt will never be cleared.
