Pressure...

Been on nightshift all night so had plenty time to think about everything before writing an article...

So this is how I see things and why I see them..

First of all I think Liverpool not buying a striker yesterday after putting Carroll out on loan was a case of shooting ourselves in the foot. People can dress it nicely and say we have youth with potential all the rest of it but without beating round the bush BR is going to be under serious pressure now...

Why is he going to be under pressure???

Andy Carroll is an England international striker so treating him that way and not replacing him is bait for the press to pounce on if things do not go right..

When will this start? Well if Carroll scores today and we do not score or struggle in front of goal on Sunday the answer is right away...

So there is one side of it..!!

The other side of it is the fans... I had a look on the Liverpool FC web site. Under the article about Eccleson leaving and there is hundreds of comments from disgruntled fans regarding our business yesterday, a quick scroll down this board give's a fairly mixed opinion HOWEVER there is a very large number of Liverpool fan's out there right now VERY VERY ANNOYED!!!

If Suarez gets injured, Borini takes time to settle and does not score in next few games or the results do not happen in the next few games the pressure is going to be MASSIVE for Brendan!!!!

There is no good way to dress this up! Regardless what people on these boards say about patience and being positive, if Liverpool struggle for goals and do not get results in the next few games because of this deadline day fiasco the press will be laying it on thick and our own fans will turn against the manager and the board...

Already there is BR out and FSG out cry's on the website, right now I like many others find the quite ridicules..

HOWEVER that small whisper will turn into a loud cry within a month if things go pear shaped..

Needless pressure being put on a new manager, needless pressure being put on very young players and needless pressure being put on the few new signings we have made!!!

I honestly fear the worst guys I really do not understand what Liverpool are doing and its currently 07:45 I guarantee today by time I get up on all talk shows, sky sports anything Liverpool will be getting scrutinized in relation to yesterdays transfer business...

Prepare for a bumpy ride its going to be a long hard season!!! YNWA!!!!

I'm fuming. It feels like our season is already over. I genuinely think Ayre should go after this farce!

Some of the comments from the web site....

"FSG = Hicks and Gillet mark II. At least those guys got the spade in the ground! Mor e useless yanks Im afraid. Whatever happened to this once great club."

"Not having an alternative target to Dempsey is scandalous and this is just the cherry on the top. Irresponsible. Reeks of incompetence."

"Sad day and looks like another sad season to be a liverpool fan, cant put up with this anymore."

"Well done kenny and comolli and ian ayre, 100mil spent on absolute c**p and we cant even buy a proven goal scorer ? Well done we sell 8-9 players and bring in 4-5... Sounds like were trying to strengthen(Y) ian u deserve to be sacked "

"What's going on at LFC???why let Carroll go on loan when there are replacement coming in?soo gutted n now believing that our dear club is in a mess,OUT FSG!!!"

" U FSG TURNING LFC INTO LAUGHING STOCK IM SO ED OFF"

"get the out of this club fsg, yank s"

"Well guys here we go ... Liverpool fc are now officially a mid table club "

The list goes on and on and on.....

Look - at the risk of sounding like a harry enfield scouser, can everyone just calm down!!!

The knee jerk is being laid on so thick since yesterday evening its making me think what complete idiots we have as supporters right now!

We are in the middle of a complete overhaul at the moment. We have actually shed our squad of a lot of dross on big money, and Brendan has actually brought in 5 new players, 1 of them instantly looking like getting MOTM every game. The same people who slated the board for sacking Kenny too early a are now beginning to vent anger at them again, and build up the pressure all by themselves on BR who has had TWO PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES!! TWO!!!

This is a new record if fans can call for the manager and board to be changed by the 1st September, for not signing a 4 million pound player who is the wrong side of 30.

I know you are angry because it looked like we might make deadline signings and we didn't, but would you rather we get taken to the cleaners by Fulham by yet again paying over the odds for a player? After Carrolls inflated transfer fee they are understandably once bitten twice shy.

We are changing for the better and the rebuild takes time. People are saying 4th has gone now because we didnt sign Dempsey! Ha! Get a grip! In what world should we expect 4th in our current situation anyway??!

Everyone just slow down, take stock, and write down all the positive changes Brendan has made to Liverpool football club since his arrival. If you look at this logically you will see all you are doing is venting anger just because we didn't make a marquee signing last night.

Shoot me down if you will but my advice is, give Brendan the time he deserves and support your club.

Jeez, with fans like these who needs journalists...

Ham - with the strike force we have, do you see us getting top 6?

I'm neither calling for the manager or the board to walk. Ayre f'd up yesterday and he should be fully culpable.

Right now Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Newcastle, Spurs and probably Everton all have stronger squads than we do.

We have a good first team the same as we have had for years, and if we are lucky we might keep them all for and in form and be top 6 in January.

If we are unlucky we will be below all those 7 teams and the likes of Swansea and Sunderland as well, and the atmosphere at the club will be Hodgson all over again (whih is ridiculous as BR is actually a good manager!).

Let's hope our luck has turned.

I honestly think tomorrows game is one of our biggest for years and years. We struggled at home all last season, we failed to beat either City or Hearts despite decent performances.

We have to start winning games at home or we will fun ourselves in the bottom half at Christmas.
