Giving the ball away

Is the reason we keep conceding.

*Against WesBrom the ball was given away in midfield during a counter for the penalty and red card

*Against City the ball was given away in midfielder for the first goal during a counter.

*Against Arsenal the ball was given away in midfield during a counter.

Brendan really has to drill it into the players ears to STOP giving the ball away. If you can't keep it just pass it to the next person or Joe Allen.

Individual mistakes, when we cut them out abit more we'll be ok

Gerrard was giving the ball away all the game, he needs to bench, and we need a new captain.

That's only part of the reason. The major reason, in my opinion is our attack. Suarez in the centre can't hold the ball and we suffer in attack AND defence because of it. The longer it goes on the more nervous we get and the heads drop. Then errors creep in.

I kinda exepect us to amake a few mistakes,we are being asked to play a slightly different system;it just seems that every mistake is costing us goals. This is when we all need to just take a step back, and this is where we need to be patient....this is the period where we are be all accounts going to have a hard time of it.

Need to be more patient in a passing, still to much haste at times, especially from Gerrard.

And I still believe the defence should put it on the stands if not sure.

Most of our moves break down through Suarez not giving an easy option, Gerrard, Enrique and Borini are the next three most quilty.

Joe Allen and Sterling were again our two best players despite Sterling being well marked by the lad Jenkinson who looked decent.

Agree with the patient comment but I do question whether the players are fully brought in to the style of play. It seems to me that we give the ball away most often when the team get impatient and try higher risk balls or balls that just aren't on. If they truly believed in the concept of retention surely that wouldn't happen as much. Maybe it just needs time but Gerrard was by far the worst culprit today.

As for Suarez, his control at times was dreadful. It was like watching Heskey all over again!

We seem to be very vunerable to the counter attack att he moment due to the full backs both bombing forward as per the system. This would be less of an issue if we did not lose the ball cheaply at times, once Sahin, Allen and Lucas are are starting for us this should happen less. Suarez, Borini and Gerrard will need to keep it simple at times and not try and do too much as individuals.

I have to say that BR does strike me a bit like a FIFA DVD Manager: a gifted tactician and thinker who imagines he is playing with fantasy signings instead of the mostly second tier players he has on the books. He either has to adjust his expectations and play accordingly or else get these guys on the training ground 6 hours a day working on these overlaps and zonal runs. They look way off at the moment. Reminds me a bit of Tony Mowbray
