After todays crash in Belgium Grosjean has been handed a race ban by the FIA and Stewards and will not race at Monza.
D'Ambrossio will now replace him at Lotus next weekend.
In other news Pastor Maldonado handed a 10 place grid drop at Monza for a jump start and causing an incident.

Grosjean given race ban

Fantastic.
So good to see the FIA make a big decision like this.
The driving from these two has been downright dangerous this year, and the crash at the start of this race just shows what can happen when that dangerous driving is allowed to go on.

Spot on FIA. This sends a big message that the collective behaviour of these two just is not acceptable.

lol, mature.
1 match ban? It's not football. Match bans may be common place in that sport, but race bans are a rarity in F1.

I believe Maldonado should have received a harsher penalty

Its about time Pastor was banned like Grosjean.
The 10 place grid penalty is the worst penalty you could give him, its Monza next weekend and having Pastor start well far down the grid... the first chicane will be interesting.

Yesterday was a perfect example for how dangerous it is to qualify down the grid at circuits like Spa.
Can't wait for Monza.

Typical GP2 standards of driving.

I think pastors penalty was about right, but the penalty for rg is very lenient, minimum 2 race ban and a fine to the charities chosen by the affected drivers
