you are no longer a top 4 club though. Funny thing is media give liverpool this big expectation and consistently downplay arsenal like they are finished. In a way its like man utd I remember in 2006 people were saying no van nistelrooy man utd to finish outside top 4 lol forgetting we finished 2nd previous year. We end up storming to the league in 2007.

However in 2009 liverpool get miracle 2nd, I predicted liverpool would struggle for top 4 the next season even thoughh mcnulty thought you would win it. 2009 was your max you could get so many games turned round against 10 men from behind and still man utd won it easy,

After being outplayed by Southampton I doubt Man Uts will be going on to win the CL anytime soon.

If you had Arsenal and Spurs squad, I'd agree but you are just a top half club now. You are depending too heavily on players who are just not good enough - Henderson, Downing etc and you have a lot of young players who are gaining experience now. You also need a goalscorer.

Apart from that, Gerrard seems to be on his way out and you haven't replaced Carragher and Kuyt yet. These players are the spine which have been saving Liverpool these last years.

Unfortunately, Liverpool has been run into the ground since that famous Champions League victory. Too many poor or ordinary players have been signed and then sold - it's not just about bank balances but about the fact that there has not been a settled squad since that victory which was achieved largely with Houllier's squad.
