They were not as sharp as they were against City and didn't press properly. Maybe the midweek fixture contributed to this as most of them played 90 mins against Hearts.

Not really.
Alot of the players, especially the supposed senior ones, heads dropped as soon as the 2nd goal went in. Which is a shocking attitude and something that Rodgers will have to put in extra work on.
The fact that Allen took it upon himself to impose himself more on the game even though he was our CDM just about summed it up.
We need to clear house really as alot these players just give up as soon as things dont go our way.

As soon as we conceed, you know its gonna be a loss or at best a draw.
Goals win games, and as such,an out and out striker or two was needed last year, stevie's not gonna get any better, carra is finished, reina is over-rated,but to say proffessional multi millionare players cant do it twice in a week for 90 minutes is an excuse i really cant hack!
Thats why they get paid what they get paid!

I did wonder about the logic of playing Gerrard and Suarez against Hearts, given that we had a big game against one of the established top 4 two and a half days later.
In hindsight the game against hearts was a lot tougher then expected, but I certainly feel that Gerrard will struggle playing two games a week with a short recovery time.
