Rodolfo

Talk of the little traitor, Heskey, etc., returning to the fold, is futile. Whether we, or anyone else for matter, think that we can go outside and buy our way out, in the short term especially, is not realistic. Time for Rodolfo to be consulted; he knows the youth better than anyone else. Time for him to be brought more into the fold and his experience, his expertise, be tapped to identify our two best promising youngsters to help us out of position. JimmyTheRed

>>Last year Comolli had a deliberate plan of buying the targets early and then moving the unwanted players on deadline dead and it worked.

I wouldn't say that worked to be honest

All we did was overpay for our targets.

Will owen be better than morgan?better than borini?better than pacheco? If you are honest it obviously a yes
===============================
If you really think that Owen is better than Borini then you really need to recheck yourself.

The guys offers almost nothing else apart from scoring one of one. In BRs system you need more than that and I feel young players are more capable of providing that. Owen can't run around chasing the ball for 90 mins. He already spends most of his time in treatment room imagine trying to run around for 90 mins..

I think Owen is too controversial to be honest and that would be too much of a risk / distraction.

But give Mickey a chance and he hits net, not wood, gloves or row z. That makes it a bit tempting.

In my opinion we only overpaid on Downing and this was because Villa had paid a big fee for him and had tied to a long contract. Carroll was bought on deadline day and thus is obviously not included.

Buying early and selling on transfer day was - is - a calculated gamble. It also affords new acquisitions to bed into the new system. The strategy was sound and dud not contribute to overpaying for the likes of Downing. If it had been implemented again we would nit be sitting here looking for freebie out of contracters like Owen. Bellamy should not have been allowed to leave until Dempsey was signed and Carroll for sturridge are two examples. Very poor boardroom level mistakes.

People are talking about principles and stunting youth etc. However people need to understand we have a striker crisis! We have no striker! Morgan is nowhere near ready. We need a short-term fix. I would have hit you a slap a month ago if you suggested Owen but now? We need a striker, even to stick him on the bench and Owen is the best of a bad bunch available.

Owen? Why on earth did we have to get to this situation? I would rather have Morgan, Yesil, Assaidi, Ngoo, Pacheco even if not ready than the horse s#it Owen!

I'm all for bringing youth through but people need to get it through their heads that Pacheco is not very good. A couple of halves pre-season won't change that.

That leaves us with Morgan and Yesil. They are the ones who will have to make the step up if anyone is going to.

Ngoo may well, he's been playing pretty good recently

Ngoo is our best hope from the reserves as Morgan is nowhere near ready.

Can I ask a serious question, when was the last time Owen scored a premier league goal? I genuinely don't know.
