The British Press concern me as they have all got the knife into AVB and the latest comments from Deschamps regarding the treatment of Hugo Lloris is scandalous !!
Why should AVB have to defend his comments that Lloris will have to earn his place in the side which is the essence of the team sport ethic ?
There is a sinister agenda here which is typical of the irresponsible reporting in certain areas of the UK Press.
Whilst I like Harry as a person and thank him for the great job that he did at Spurs may I remind people that last year at a crucial period we only took a possible 3 points from the 33 that were available missing out on CL by 1 point !!
Harry is a dream manager for the press always willing to give a comment however I believe that any manager has a shelf life of 3 - 4 years maximum unless you are Fergie or Wenker !!
Our players must take responsibility for their performance as they are in a very priviliged position.
I think AVB should be given a fair chance to prove his worth.
AVB & The Press.

Thats what Mourinho was like but he also had charisma, a playful side to him. In all his time he could do no wrong, the press loved being at his conferences, but alongside the occasional moody and the oddness, he had a really likeable side to him.
Not sure AVB has shown that yet, he just seems a bit intense and odd and so he's an easy target.
I am sure AVB can handle it, the problem is that if the media don't like him then soon after they write something about him, whether ture or not, those on the terraces are using it as a stick to beat him if things do not go well.
Sometimes stories become given truths.....like Harry, Most think that he was offered a lucrative new deal by Levy in March, it's a given, accepted as gospel! But is it true? WHo knows for sure?
The press can say AVB has upset senior players, fallen out with a, b or c and the next bad game the fans think it's all true and a reason for the failure.

The difference being, Mourinho backed it up and was a success at Chelsea and then at Inter and Madrid.
AVB is always going to be associated with his failure at Chelsea (which was amplified by the RDM coming in to steady the ship and delievering our most coveted trophy) and he has to accept that until he proves himself his methods will come under intense media scrutiny. I don't think it's a conspiracy by any means.

He needs to go on a charm offensive with the press, they'll lay off him a bit and perhaps a better atrmosphere for success will develop around the club.
It doesn't help that we fired ther media darling redknapp.

Another one of my gripes is feeling sorry for AVB for not having a perfect squad, when i imagine most pro-managers could have picked a better team, tactics & formation with our squad of players, versus a side like Norwich, at home, than AVB did.
I actually think he believes he's the Special One, and is trying to make a very simple game, over-complicated.
We cannot excuse him on the basis that he's new either, as we have faced 2 new managers, both of which out-foxed him away from home.
He's just completely out his depth, which is nothing new considering what we saw (& took the pee out of) from his time at Chelsea.
Is anyone genuinely surprised by our start? I'm certainly not, which is why i've stuck to the same opinion throughout.

And the small fact we finished 4th last season, in Spurs best Premiership finish ever (ie. 1pt off 3rd).

If your club is that swayed by the press then I think thats the real problem

Let us put things in perspective we played well at Newcastle where we deserved at least a draw.
We played well against West Brom when we should have won and West Brom beat Everton on the weekend.
Against Norwich we played against an industrious team who had the better chances and could have won but for Friedel.
We need to lift our spirits to play with tempo to pass the ball with speed and get better movement and I think that Dembele has the technical ability to control the midfield whilst Dempsey will put himself about !!

Chicken, I had to hear all that from other Chelsea fans when he was here. Lampard was the scapegoat then, funny how everyone seemed to come around when he lifted the CL
