Lucas Piazon is in the A list of the Champions League squad, most probably in the expense of Florent Malouda. I believe this shows that Roberto Di Matteo has shown great faith in Lucas Piazon as he didn't sign another striker as back up to Daniel Sturridge/Fernando Torres which maybe shows that Lucas Piazon is ready to be this person & his also put him ahead of Malouda who isn't even in the CL squad. This will all give Piazon a confidence boost for sure & I truely believe if Piazon gets called upon he'll do wonders for us, It can be a very clever move from RDM. Piazon played up front in pre season, so it shows RDM was probably analysing whether he was ready for a bigger role at the club.
P.S. I am not Malouda's biggest fan, but with the departures of Micheal Essien & Raul Meireles, Malouda can play a big part in filling their void, as he'll bring experience to the table.

The squad is only for the first 6 games, good of the club to show some faith in Piazon will be a big motivation for the lad.
But I think he is just holding the slot till somebody comes in January (Falcao maybe?)

If Sturridge and Torres are out Mosescwill be CF. Piazon is in the same boat as the list B players but he wouldn't be able to qualify for that list.

Isn´t Piazon more of an attacking midfielder/second striker ?
He´s a very good young player though and if given his chance in the first team could start making an impact.
