11 years after losing his legs in a near fatal champ car crash Alex Zanardi has won gold at the Paralympics 2012.
Congratulations to him and the hard work he put in to make this happen .

Great stuff. He wasn't favourite for the Gold.
I checked this morning to see if the event was going to be televised but could find no reference.
I think he may be participating in some other events as well.

It wasn't televised. I was extremely disappointed when I came to thst realisation. To come back from having just 1litre of blood left in your body, to ten years later winning gold at the Paralympics is just incredible.
If this guy hasn't given up, nobody should.

He will compete in two more events – the road race (Fri 7/09 @ 1630),
