Another Italian and an Algerian on trial

Alessandro Cibocchi has agreed terms and has basically signed on a two year deal. Honestly think this is cover. Connell has signed.

And now we move on to Mehdi Kerrouche whos on trial, must admit commentators are going to find this season a nightmare with our names.

2006–2007 AC Cambrai 18 (9)
2007-2007 KSK Ronse 23 (11)
2007–2008 USM Alger ? (?)
2008–2009 GFCO Ajaccio 24 (13)
2009–2010 Naval 14 (5)
2010- Al-Oruba 18 (14)

Its a good goalscoring record but honestly no idea how strong the dubai leagues are.

Nice video about him aswell here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_8ADHViOo4

Also thought I would add Risser's interesting comments he said to the adver which I enjoyed.
“We have our aims for the season. We know what we want - we want to get promoted and win the league. Ultimately I want to be in the Championship. That is the aim, otherwise I would not have signed. All the players want to win so if it means we play in League Two this year, then hopefully we can be promoted to League One, and then we look at promotion again. How we do it is another thing, but why not? "

His commitment and ethuaism is incredible. I honestly think this could be one of our best signings for a long time. Great chance of captain, but the great thing after last years shambles with no real leader on the pitch we now have 3 or 4 out on the pitch.

Very excited for this season and I cant wait!

STFCx,
I don't suppose that any of us have a clue about how the new lot will perform. Stats are one thing, results are another.
We must just hope that it all gels v Crewe and thereafter.
If it does, we are singing. If it don't we are deep in the proverbial, with probably no way out!

Gollum,
Of course we have no idea how they will perform, but thats one reason why I'm excited. This season could go either brilliant or horribly wrong, we will have to wait. Of course none of use can expect success straight away this is a brand new squad with just 4 or 5 players from last seasons squad. (Though we've kept our 3 best players) and with these new players we are sure to have determination, ethuaism, commitment and probably one of the fittest teams in the league.Unlike last season where we had a load of idiots just waiting to get off the pitch so they can go down the pub.

Also we don't need success straight away honestly. Stevenage last season were near the relegation zone near the new year and they ended up winning promotion, not with quality players but with a team who wants to play and is always 100% commited. I honestly believe that is at the of our core of the team because Di Canio has been making sure that all players have this with the amount of trialists, But unlike Stevenage we have some serious quality players, Ritchie and Caddis are far to good for league two and so far the board has done well to keep them.

Im very optimistic, and I honestly believe we will get promotion because I'm like that I get carried away with the hype it often comes and bits me in the butt though

On other news Di Canio has already offered the algerian a two year contract must see something in him.

We have to go into start of season with confidence but with the scale of the re- build most fans will be cautious. I was asked this weekend if I thought we would go straight back up as champs. My reply was, not sure about us winning the league but if we find ourselves around mid table at Xmas I really believe the club will spend what is necessary to get us up. Of course for that to happen the right players will have to be looking for a move in January. Either way Everyone at Swindon Town including us supporters will be desperate for a return to div one.

STFCx,
3 best from last year? I agree Caddis & Ritchie, but the other one has to be Ferry.
Caddis is brilliant at FB, Ritchie the same played out wide. IMO, Ferry in midfield.
I just hope that we keep them in those positions & not mess about & change them to accomodate new signings.
Such as was done last season.
Notts,
We never imagined, this time last year, how bad it would be - we'd just missed promotion.
We all went into last season full of confidence. Even in December, there was optimism from some about reaching the play-offs.
Then the wheels fell off!
We know what x's stalwarts are made of, 3 of them, but I defy anyone to know how the new guys will perform.
My worry is that they might do well in the sun in August at the CG, but would be found wanting in December up north! Then it would be too late to get things right, & another season wasted.

Gollum,
Did I not say ferry? my mistake I meant to say him.
Completely agree with what you say, maybe we can find out more about these players tonight at supermarine and then agaisnt Reading, but these are friendlies. We are clueless to actually know what is going to happen until we face Crewe and the rest, its just a guessing games.

Sounds like Cibocchi took a knock during last nights friendly and wasn't on for long. Paolo has made positive comments regarding Esajas so think he may become a town player officially later today or tomorrow morning. Did anybody manage to get to match? Would be interested to hear how team especially new signings played.

Notts I didn't go but I asked my mate who went and said its completely different team, they were always putting supermarine under pressure didn't allow them to become comfortable on the ball, the passing was on the floor and brilliant, they only had one shot at Smith, Commazi doesn't shut up and Kennedy had another good game with a nice goal. Also De Vita impressed him, said he makes nice movement and looks a threat.

Sounds promising. Really want to see us play Reading to see how we do agaisnt a better team

Cheers x. That's stfc x and not a kiss x ! Although it was only a friendly it's still nice to keep clean sheets. Sounds like Kennedy is really trying to win a starting place and going by how much game time he has had in the last few friendlies he may just get to start 1st league game. Hopefully the Reading tickets will be available to buy on Saturday, will be another reason to get people along to open day.

I went to Supermarine on tuesday and was quite impressed. Supermarine provided a sterner test that I thought they would and constantly closed us down and tried to push us back. Despite this we passed the ball quite well and the ball was in the main played on the floor. Comazzi and Devera were solid, Kennedy was decent. John Smith was absolutely superb, always aware of his position, wether he was going forward or tracking back. He was tidy in possesion and looked pretty comfortable. My MOTM by some way.
We cant read to much into this though, it's a poor standard of opponent. Some of the new lads may have looked good tonight but may be awful during the season.

Let's wait until it's the end of November until we judge anyone. Trust in Paolo!
