To me, looking over this board right now, shows the problem with England fans, and the reason the atmosphere at Wembley is questionable.
We are all too concerned with petty point scoring for our club's representatives in the England team.
All the United fans bringing up Carrick and Rio. It's like yes, we understand that you like them, but they aren't a part of the game/squad, so whining isn't going to change that.
And all the comments about Gerrard being past it, but not a thing said about Lampard.
And an article saying Chelsea equalised for England.
How can we ever expect the national team to do well if we constantly want to point score for our clubs. Surely when the pull on the England shirt, players should be England players, not Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Liverpool players?

I couldnt agree more. All you ever see on here after an England game is Arsenal fans slating every teams players, United fans saying Carrick should play, Chelsea fanscriticising Gerrard etc. Its all pointless really.

Have to agree op I've never understood how much abuse English players get due to club rivalries.
I've been a Liverpool fan all my life and therefore don't like united, but once Roy keane pulled on a green Irish jersey he was and always will be my favorite Irish player of all time, I've cheered John o Shea on for years even though he played for united and was a bit of a donkey, ditto kilbane when he was at everton, when they wear green they are representing roi and should get our support whoever they play for.
I doubt any united supporting England fan would ever say gerrard was their favorite England player, or a liverpool would say Rooney etc

As much as I don't like Rooney as a person, when he's pulled on the England shirt, I've always been right behind him.
And I've always been a huge fan of David Beckham, and still am.
It's petty, and it helps no-one.

If I may say as a neutral, id saddened me tonight the club in-fighting among fans from various clubs on JA tonight, seriously if England were to win a major tournament, the fans could only be described as hypocrites if they celebrated with any gusto.
I blame Murdoch for he has turned the English media and Fans against each other like a modern but more proactive hitler type.
I know its only a minority on here but ya can't help but feel its a majority overall.

Agree its pathetic, but then you go on to ignore the fact Gerrard deserves his critisism and that Lampard receieves his flack too.
And Carrick would have done a far better job yesterday, the defence were forced to hoof it everytime because Lamps and Gerrard were running away from them.
Don't even get me started on James Milner! If he is there to protect Johnson, then play a full back who can defend and a winger who will be effective.
Long as Roy is picking individuals, we will not progess.
For christ sake we had a player on the bench Roy himself said will not be getting on the pitch, when players like Dyer, Sinclair and Osman could of made the difference in the last 15 last night.
