For the first 45 minutes, Wigan held a rather makeshift United.
Then Scholes was in the right place to score after Al Habsi failed to hold a shot. Once again, Martinez replaced Maloney with Gomez, and Chicharito promptly scored from a deflected shot.
Wigan lost their shape and offered no resistance as debutant Buttner ran past four players before beating Al Habsi at the near post. Powell then came on and also marked his debut with a goal, scoring with a powerful shot.
Wigan posed few problems for United and were well beaten.

Fack knows, this must be the 5th game they've lost 4 or 5-0 to us. Think we even won the title at their ground in 2009

Me too, he dribbled past 5 players! And after watching Evra for 2 years, it was great to see Buttner track back and defend against the winger. Powell is one for the future, he's a central midfielder

Why has your manager got his nickers in a twist?? His comments make him look like a real idiot! The pen wasn't one, but it was missed. Didn't he see the countless hacks but Caldwell on about 3 players and never got booked? One on hernedez was truely awful..... I take it he didn't see that one! And considering you're 18 miles away the turnout was fooling awful! Best thing for the premiership is Wigan relegated and hope propar football clubs bone back up. Boy I miss the games against Leeds, forest, ispwich etc propar club with a good following, even wigwams rugby crowds are total pants, so what's wrong with the pie eaters???
