Buy yourself time from the fans Brendon

Of course fans are impatient, esp those associated with Liverpools history and fairly (sort of) recent success of challenging for the league and CL finals.

Even our fans only have so much patience before they get twitchy, its a natural reaction esp considering the last 3yrs.....sorry the last 3 awful yrs.

However, just as fans are getting that uneasy feeling and maybe having negative thoughts up pops Utd on the horizon. If there is one game that BR can win to gain a little more time its beating Utd at Anfield; so go on BR go get yourself time from the fans by sticking it to utd, if you do then its 4 points of utd and all of a sudden its starting to come together.....we all believe;............just beat utd thats all

Beating united would be good! Some united fans behaved like tttw.ats yesterday!

TBF Skred most utd fans are not so insensitive or moronic. The vast majority just want to njoy the game and support their team.......even if its the wrong team.

Yeah Jan really fkd us up but with the likes of gerrard suarez sterling and shelvey they should be really looking to get at least 8-15 goals each; but they are well short.

Its the one real worry for me because even at Swansea BRs team didnt really score a great deal, now was that the system or lack of top quality players?

I thin k against Utd especially at Anfield, the manager does not really need to do a lot.
U guys always manage to beat us at Anfield no matter whatevr ur form is.
I am hoping for a draw in this game but would be overjoyed if we are somehow able to bring back 3 opts from Anfield.

I've been thinking this morning that this is a massive game for Rodgers. I appreciate that this game is always a massive game, but given we have 2 points from twelve (after a horrendous run of fixtures), I feel that getting something against the mancs will be important.

A win would be a massive boost in terms of setting ourselves up for (on paper at least) an easier run of games than we have had in our opening games. A draw would be acceptable given where we are and the standard of the opposition.

A loss and the pressure will start to mount, which potentially could affect our young inexperienced squad.

Hmmm, I'm quite apprehensive about this game, to be honest.

If you look at when United play Arsenal, Ferguson pretty much has Wenger's number in tactical terms these days. United let Arsenal have the ball and punish them on the break. They seem really comfortable with opposition teams having the ball, they don't panic and they commit numbers on the break at the right time.

When you throw in the fact that we're having teething problems and our defence and keeper have looked like they've never played together, we could struggle. Then again, as Valencia's Smile says, we've got a good record against them at Anfield in recent years. I felt Ferguson was overly cautious in the league match last year and played for the draw (which, in fairness, he got), but I think he'll be more positive this year.

I think Lucas' absence may end up being a big factor I can't see us keeping a clean sheet unless the occasion gets to United. Then again, in Rafa's last season we were playin poorly, only for United to struggle with the intensity of the game at Anfield. Hopefully some of the lads will bring their shooting boots, I think we'll need them.

I totally expect a Liverpool win. Year on year against United at anfield their performance goes up 100 per cent and even the likes of downing can put on a world class performance.

It's their cup final at the end of the day. And in recent years United haven't appeared to have the stomach for it.

I totally HOPE a Liverpool win. both our manager and team are very young, with exception, very young especially when it comes to playing the way Brendan wants them to. I have a lot of faith in our manager; he will deliver the goods. patience friends. jimmyTheRed
