UEFA Champions League Preview 2012/13

This week shows the return of the Champions League, 4 months after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties (1-1 after extra time) in their own backyard, The Allianz Arena.

The four English clubs involved this year include Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City, with Tottenham narrowly missing the cut, albeit finishing 4th in the league last season. Celtic complete, the British contingent.

FIXTURES

Tuesday, 18th Sept @ 7:45pm

Montpellier vs Arsenal GROUP B
Real Madrid vs Man City GROUP D

Wednesday, 19th Sept @ 7:45pm

Chelsea vs Juventus GROUP E
Celtic vs Benfica GROUP G
Manchester Utd vs Galatasaray GROUP H

Going into the opening week I believe all 5 teams have a good chance of getting at least a point. IMO United and Arsenal will go in with confidence after the weekends results and win their games, with Chelsea drawing with Juve. City and Celtics games are a little tougher to predict, normally you'd go for Madrid at home, but they just don't look like a team at the moment and it could be City's chance to pounce, however I can see a score draw here 1-1 or 2-2. Celtic could possibly hang onto a point at home, but Benifca have some players that could grab an away win.

Predictions

Winners: Manchester United
Runners Up: Barcelona
Top Scorer(s): Messi, Giroud
Best Fans: Tottenham Hotspur

Can't seem to find the link to the article i read it anymore sure it was espn though, if you google it, it's just loads of people talking about it . 7million he could have had him for

And Falcao just reminds me of Drogba in some aspects, always seems to turn it up 5 notches for the big games as well

Lazio, Napoli and Juventus look strong this season

---------------------------------------------------

As I said, let's see how they do in the Champions League against the better sides.

Any of the English sides on top form would beat all of those sides IMO, including either of the Milan teams.
