Don't Be Sorry, It's Football

Way too much negativity and guilt from United fans today when the fact is facts don't lie. United won the game today because they scored two goals and Liverpool scored one.

Yes Liverpool played well but so did swansea last year and unfortunately for them you don't get bonus points for playing well. It's blunt but all that matters are the points, especially at the start of the reason. And despite Liverpool playing well apart from the goal what did they really create for all their good play? Certainly nothing clean cut.

The United penalty was a penalty, the sending off was a sending off because it was reckless and was nowhere near the ball like Evans and VanP were. The Suerez pen maybe was a pen but he didn't get it because he went down like he had been shot.

So in summary, United were poor today but they won away at the most difficult away fixture of the season. Quite why we need to apologise for that I don't know - VC even made an article on the Liverpool board apologizing.

Bottom line it was a great win and Liverpool only have themselves to blame for not taking advantage of this great football they supposedly played. The great football that created one good chance all game.

I honestly think they will struggle this year. Good passing is fine but they don't create enough and aren't clinical enough when they are on top.

I think your letting the fact that it was Suarez colour your judgement. There was much more contact on Suarez than Valencia but sometimes you get them and some times you don't

I can't say I heard anything uptoward from either set of fans but you can never rule out individual idiots.

Suarez was also unfortunate that the ball went in exactly the direction that it would have gone in had the defender touched it.

Even after the first couple of replays I thought he'd got the ball.

No doubting it could have been a pen but when the forward makes unnatural body movements with their head and body and goes down like jfk then the ref has every right to think it was a dive. That's not Liverpool fans fault and it's not a dig, just an honest view of why you didn't get your pen. Ours looked stone wall from where the ref was.

liverpool were bound to be fresher than us today. their first team players had had eight says rest from their last game, whereas ours were involved in a draining champions league game in midweek, and it showed. we went to anfield without our best centre back and best centre forward and won. i personally couldn't be happier.

Yeah, can't really complain about the form guide/league position. But I can't remember feeling less satisfied by a win at Anfield.
