Diaby

I get so frustrating, due to the fact we all know he has it in him to be a very good player.
All he needs to do is make the smallest changes to his playing style and he will be there but instead is just inconsistent.
the issue i think affects his performance are that:
> he chooses to take those few unnecessary extra touches when a simple pass would do so much more.
>Dwells on the ball not knowing what to do.
>more often when passing he goes for the difficult ones rather than the simple ones.
>and from a personal view and probably the most important, I feel he needs to put more effort in his play and get stuck in more. especially playing the position in midfield he does. these things lead to poor passing and inconsistent performances.

I see that when whiltshere returns to fitness and form diaby will be the one to make way, as wilshere does everything and more compared to the limitations of diaby mentioned above.

Trust me when diaby does get it right he performs really well, but the fact he hasn't completely eradicated those inconsistencies never allows him to reach greater heights in which his potential can achieve, as he pretty much has everything else in his game. it's annoying he doesn't learn.

someday - if jack hits the same heights as he did before his injury, i know for certain diaby will be the man to make way. i can only see then, jack becoming a straight automatic selection in all of our games when available.

Won't see the best of him until he is actually 100% fit and can go a while without picking up any injuries.

Who is whiltshere?

gta - yes you can easily put his fitness down to his effort in games but the rest is him just not learning from his mistakes. maybe you could put that down to lack of experience due to lack of games from his many injuries.

He is a top top player i think, just dwells on the ball too long somtimes, but when it works for him, he takes 2-3 players out of the game in one motion, when it doesn't it leaves us in a bit of a mess.

thats the thing, i'm not saying he should stop trying to dribble past players, but just pick the right moment to do so, then we won't be in a mess when he fails. its silly that he still thinks its ok to dibble past 3 players in his own half.

Not good to have ball hog like Diaby and another ball hog in Gervinho playing together.

It is difficult to get stuck in when a thug broke your leg and possibly your career at a young age. It preys on one's mind all the time.
