The future of this club is brimming with talent with young players who are getting more exposure to the public eye than ever before. The quality is there, the system in place which helps the younger players adapt easier to their roles within the team.
Crucial to their aid is Jamie Carragher who has a big role coaching these players through the games. Clearly his place in terms of regular first team action in the biggest games has diminished and rightly so but he is the voice to which these young talents can listen. His importance should not be discounted by anyone.
The ability of Sahin rose to the top tonight and he announced himself as a player of immense quality for the here and now. Like many fans I wondered, is this guy in it for the long haul at Liverpool, or is our club being used as a springboard for fitness and Madrid next season. Tonight provided a committed player to the cause and worse case scenario, he departs in the summer but performs week in, week out, a certain Suso will be a year older, wiser and stronger in every sense of the word.
The full backs of Wisdom and Robinson are developing nicely and barring unforeseen injury, could be valuable members of the match day Premier league squad for next season. This continued run of games each week will really stand to Coates aswell as the season progresses, something he was denied last season for no obvious reason.
Altough many disagree, I still have faith Henderson will perform a Lucas type action in time and rediscover his confidence as a holding defensive player albeit not in the strongest first team eleven. Tonight he was decent but needs to show consistent improvement or his long term chance at this club may pass him by.
The story of two wingers. The exciting trickery, with end product of Assaidi performing opposite the stage frightened and mentally fragile Downing. The contrast is huge, the difference in fee enormous with King Kenny's British buy policy exposed ruthlessly in this instance. Like everyone, we hope one can challenge to make a place in the team his own, while the other finds a suitable club relevant to his standard, the Charlie Adam reference comes to mind.
Roll on Norwich, I for one can not wait, this team is growing rapidly and the younger players are like 5 or 6 new signings. We all know what needs to be addressed in the next window but the rest of the squad is filling out nicely as is the shoulders of the future players of our great club, a club weighed down by expectation for far too long.

"Suso will be bigger than Sterling".
I said that a while back. I follow the reserve team very closely. And I hearted Suso the first time a saw him. His touch and ball control was excellent even back then. We have to tie him to a long term contract now.
Also, take my word for it, Henderson will be a big big player for us in the future. He has leadership skills, and technical ability. He will gain confidence eventually and be a hit. His one touch passing game is something that doesn't come naturally.

I'm on the fence about Henderson. I guess he's young enough to improve but out of interest, what do you think his main asset is?

Horay some people who see what Henderson does.
I was one of those who couldn't wait to see Spearing leave, some people love him because he tries hard and throws himself into tackles, which is fine. But the reason he does this is because his positioning is awful.
Henderson reads a game beautifully, he is more often than not exactly where he needs to be and therefore helps the other players out, like you say nott spectacular but does a very efficient job.

Also, take my word for it, downing will be a big big player for us in the future. He has leadership skills, and technical ability. He will gain confidence eventually and be a hit. His one touch passing game is something that doesn't come naturally.

Lucas, do you mean Henderson? I just cant see Downing fitting this system with nobody good at getting on the end of his crosses.

" ....downing will be a big big player for us in the future. He has leadership skills,...." Are you talking about Stewart Downing? Because 1, no he won't and 2, no he hasn't.

It seems he's signed into the wrong account. Wonder which Liverpool account he goes by.
