Has scored more goals for Liverpool football club in the couple of games he's played than Henderson or Downing have in 14 months.
What truley awful signings.

I was talking to a mate who's a villa fan and he's been saying downing is poor for years now. Even when he had that great season at villa he thought he was being way overrated, I was happy when we signed him despite the price but my mate was right, he's a poor player and we got our pants pulled down on that deal.
For sahin goal v Norwich sterling picked up the ball in the middle, little bit of quick feet and accelerated away leading to the goal, that was something we will never see downing do at lfc

We signed Downing on the basis that in his previous season he was statistically one of the best players in the premier league (cross completion, assists etc.). We also signed Roy Hodgson on the back of him being voted manager of the year in his previous season.
This is tantamount to making signings purely on reputation, as most people I know knew that Downing wasn't "all that" and also that Roy was not the man for Liverpool.
I'm glad we seem to have given up signing people on their reputation alone!

I don't think most top draw players can adapt to a number of positions. Could Messi play DM? Torres has struggled with a slight change in his role upfront. Henderson has played CM, DM, AM and RW.
Henderson played many key passes last year but the chances were fluffed by abysmal finishers. He often plays a side ways or backwards pass and then rushes foward for the ball only to see it whizz over his head as his movement is ignored by the likes of Shelvey.
I think he is being groomed for Gerrards role but despite some of the shaygite you read on here, Stevie is far from finished.

I actually agree Henderson is one of our best through passers. Problem is that he doesn't like the ball next to him, he always wants to get rid of it.

I kind of agree with that. He has the ability to beat players as well as pass but tends not to want to be on the ball to long. Doesn't help with the crowd groaning, however. It didn't help Lucas, it didn't help Carra and it won't help him. If he makes it - or in my opinion when he makes it - it will in spite of the fans, not with their/our support.

ARE - you need to get out of your head that Suso is a defensive midfield player, that's simply not true. He played a few games as a holding player, like Alonso, getting the ball and spraying passes but in no way did he or could he play defensive midfield, he just doesn't have the attributes for that role, where tackling and strength are the main attributes needed, which he lacks.

You obviously wernt watching where Suso was playing for the Spanish U21s in the Euros.when he gets older I can see him playing a similar role to Pirlo. He's also quite capable of putting his foot in.

I agree - 1 good season does not make a great player/manager - but I also think some need to remember it works both ways i.e. 1 bad season does not mean a player is useless - especially when that season is a players first at a new club!

I'll tell you what that is, its called carelessness and sloppiness and not using your scouts.
Some of Kenny's signings were signed on the basis they had 1 good season. Carroll, Downing and Adam.
Sorry, you cannot make signings on that basis.
Henderson, I reserve judgement on, as he's got the potential to be a very good player, as he's strong as an ox, his passing is accurate, but needs to be more aggressive and confident.
He needs to learn from Shelvey. Shelvey out of the two is the more talented, but he's not a natural athlete like Henderson. Henderson could easily develop into the Lucas deputy.
Jose Enrique, he's just fallen apart, I don't know whats wrong. He's had a nightmare 2012. In 2011, I would have put him as the best left back in the premiership, now he's rivalling Evra and Santon and Warnock as the worst.
Downing does need to take his finger out, if he doesn't when there is a 18 year old pint-sized Spaniard showing more desire, drive and hunger than him, then its either shape up, or leave.
Downing and Enriques Liverpool careers are in intensive care. Both seriously need to revive them.
