hmm...
according to sky sports he is now having talks.
dont mind to much that it looks like he is off...BUT, when are we ACTUALLY going to replace these bloody players? we seem to have a bit of an exodus on our hands at the min (for whatever reason)
the worrying thing is, the club appear happy to sell anyone to anyone...but dont seem to be sweating buckets with trying to replace them...just seems to be going really slowly and not getting anywere.
is anyone else worried we will have 11 starters and a bench full of 16 year olds drafted in to make the numbers up at the start of the season? oh hang on, coyle dont do that does he...sorry, a starting 11 and adam bogdan or jussi on the bench then...
to all bolton fans going to the city game....dont get drunk the night before, bring your boots...you may get a game haha
matty taylor...talks open with west ham.

How many first teamers or players that genuinely make a difference have we sold or released? None, deadwood n part timers shifted so more financially sensible players can be signed. Squad is now small but it's all good, plenty of time.

correct, i actually think we could be pioneering a new form of team managment. the 'lets not have any squad players as they cost to much' method.
why dont we realese the whole team who didnt regualry start last season and not bother with a squad? just have 11 players? if anyone gets injured...who cares? nobody seems botherd anyway...

Well Talyor does, as a squad player, that is.
You seem to have some romantic view of football that we have an unlimited budget but the fact is, we can get decent squad players on a lot less money who can actually do a job.

..............
can we?
those squad players actually have to be usefull for playing when needed as well....its all good and well saying, lets release taylor, hes on to much money and get bob smith in from leigh RMI on a fiver an appearence....but would he actually be any use when needed or just making up the numbers?
taylor wasnt awesome - either is klasnic (who is also a squad player) but i feel comfortable knowing they are there when we need them, you have to have players you have faith in on your bench, otherwise its pointless haivng them as they will be no use when they are needed...

Yes, Taylor is a championship player on Premier league wages. I have trust coyle has got two or three targets lined up anyway

i hope so
they keep saying they have 'targets' but nothing appears forthcoming...
after all the players that have been ruled out of just decided they dont want to come...will they still be saying they have 'targets'
i mean this 'targets' list has to end soon dont it?
i hear rasiack is available on loan....

I don't think Taylor is a Championship player. Wasn't he the highest scoring English midfielder after Lampard and Gerrard for two seasons in a row? That isn't Championship form for me... I think he gets a lot of unfair criticism on here. Yes he can infuriate at times but he isn't just a Championship player.

Last season, he only scored two goals for us in 36 appearances. If thats not a championship level return then its certainly not a return for a £30k a week player.

I'm going on the basis of the two seasons prior to that, where he featured in the team week in week out. Last season he was more of a bit part player, limited to substitute cameos and behind Petrov in the pecking order. Either way, as long as replace him with a better player I won't be complaining.

I wasn't denying that stat just stating that in the past two seasons, he has not been worth his wage.

Hmm perhaps, he was poor last season when he featured. I just don't like seeing players leaving who've been in or around the first team in recent seasons when we consider how small our squad is!
