FIFA vice president Jim Boyce thinks so.
And most of the discussion is 'Prem League' & The latest 'Suarez' fiasco.
Rodgers thinks the 'Criticism is unjust' Pulis wants him banned...
OK , We, Leeds & Hudders are a league lower, But it's happening in the Championship too, What do You think, is it part of the game,or,
Would you like to see it stamped out !
& if so HOW.
There's mention of punishment by trial after the event ! Would that be by 'Video evidence'..But what if a penalty is awarded, & scored...but it is later deemed the player dived ! OK, he might get 'punished' - eventually . But his team would have possibly got a result from his cheating action.
Would that then mean the club get the points gained deducted ?
What a farce that would be too.
How about RL style trial by Video Ref.... Might be the only 'fair' way to go about this, But would this provide more excitement ...or unnecessary delays ?
Over to you guys,
Is Diving becoming a cancer in Football

Could we maybe have diving competitions like in the past when they organised sprints to see which player was the fastest.
I have to say Suarez, Young and Bale would take some beating! You could award points for the maximum reaction to the "foul", the distance from the actual tackle and a bonus point for being able to switch from "absolute agony" to jumping up to complain, back to "agony" again!!!

Barnsley had a few dives in their locker too

Interesting that the Watford kid who won the pen against us got sent off for the same thing (diving) the game after. Still by this time Watford had 2 extra points on the board and at the end of the season its points that matter. If Watford stay up / make the playoffs with those points then it was all worth it... right?
Diving is pretty sad, I can understand the 'heat of the moment' arguement but harsher punishment would reduce this. I don't think its possible for refs/lino's to get it right everytime and I still think a booking is the right punishment on the day as if the ref gets it wrong (i.e. it WASNT a dive) the match is equally ruined if the punishment is a straight red for the attacker. Retrospective bans (not measly fines) is the only thing I can see working.
The thing I like(d) about the 'lower leagues' is there is a lot less diving, but maybe then this is more to do with there being supposedly less pressure to win?
3 game ban for everyone except Suarez, who should get 10 games for being a rat

Problem with that Never is that when a player receives a yellow card for an offence in a game, no further action can be taken as the ref has seen the offence to book him for it.
I wouldn't mind football taking a leaf out of rugby leagues book, whereby when a ref thinks an offence may have been committed but is not sure of the seriousness, he can place the player "on report". The incident is then looked at in greater detail by an independent panel and a punishment meted out accordingly.
Unfortunately the powers that be in footballs hierarchy are so damn arrogant that they refuse to implement methods that are so successful in other sports.

winding players up during the game, without fouling them etc is definitely part of the game.. if you cant keep yourself in check then you have no right to put professional in front of your job title..
time wasting could easily be dealt with by stopping the clock when the ball is not in play, p-ss easy to sort that one but that would mean fit , pro footballers having to play 90 minutes a game, shocking...instead of the usual 45/48 minutes of ball in play actual football we get at each game..
Diving is just outright cheating, although lots of players fall over now if the slight breeze changes direction.. its not easy for refs, bale goes over if your bootlaces catch him, there might be such minimum contact the "cricket snickometer" might not pick it up , but its there..
Better question for refs:: should a grown man go over and roll about like a stuck pig with the amount of contact made in that particular challenge..I suggest about 75% of "fouls" would then be deemed to be "simulation or over acting" and play would go on..
Im not against protecting players from silly bast-rds like roy keane and others but we are heading towards a non contact sport, what the f-ck will players have to cry about should that come about?? The "hamstring hospital" would be full every week of the lame and the very lazy!!!!!!

We'd have to assume Pulis, & Stoke City have issues with this kind of tactic.
It's not unreasonable therefore to imagine diving in training sessions at that club would be discouraged & frowned upon, So,
Should clubs, say like Liverpool, - Where we have Suarez, continually 'cheating'.. Then the manager suggesting the 'Criticism is Harsh',- Also take a hefty fine as well as the player, to make sure this is not part of the 'curriculum' in tactics & training..
Something has to be done, I for one was put off watching the game between Notts Forest & Derby because of the continual 'play acting'. & Yes, Lets have more 'contact'...The game needs to man up, Both rugby codes, Ice Hockey, Grid Iron, Hurling & Aussie Rules are full on contact sports, Football used to be much 'tougher' !
Lets not go as far as condoning the Roy Keane's of this world, But there has to be some middle ground somewhere, Goal keepers are too protected, (imo) & divers are making a mockery of the game, as if it wasn't bad enough already,
The 'FA' are the ones who need to act.
I'm not holding my breath...,
They would appear more top heavy & dictatorial than 'Brussels' ,

Anyway.
Decided to go to The Safari park yesterday.
I thought it would be OK to go through the 'monkey land' - dismissing the exaggerated 'horror stories' of previous 'visitors'.
but , Just Typical of my 'luck' though..
The little fuggers , One stole my window wiper ! another nicked a hub cap, & they ripped the front number plate off , Didn't realise a 'TOWN' sticker would have that effect on Monkeys ? (I'm sure they can't read !)
However, Once we got through SEACROFT, we got to the safari park without any more problems

I can't stand divers, as in players who either leave their leg out hoping for contact or players who go down without any contact whatsoever. However, if you're running through and someone does clip you, even if you can stay on your feet, to me it is not diving to go down quite easily, as it benefits your team and the opposition has technically committed a foul.

Give "Muff Diving" a try - you might change you're mind then.
