You guys better check it or it will eat your club deeper. If the gain their ground, then the demand will countinue. There is no need for all that in football. Clubs even borrow money to buy players.
Will football get to this?

as soon as anyone tries to involve religion in sport I just want them to bog off. Sport is secular and has no place for such interventions.
In fact football itself has been likened to a religion so how about the Muslim Council, Catholic Church, Church of England, Sceintologists or whoever burger off and leave football alone!

Actually the bloke from the Muslim council only pointed out that it went against their teachings, he also said that everyone has to choose their own path, it is not for him or anyone else to impose their ideology on others, so this is manufacturing a storm over nothing!
This is not actually a religious issue it's a moral one, and anyone regardless of religion or faith can have their morals questioned!!!

Just read the OP and thought I'd comment.
There was a Newcastle MP who didn't want Wonga sponsoring the club. He felt that Wonga advertising their 4000% loans is wrong for an area with high unemployment.
I don't think he was a Muslim though.
And to the author " If the gain their ground, then the demand will countinue"
What is that meant to mean?

I also sense that there is a danger here... What if Wonga start offering these type of loans to buy tickets to St James or season tickets...
It's a crazy situation.

"What if Wonga start offering these type of loans to buy tickets to St James or season tickets"
Like they've done at Blackpool...
As for the article, I would be beyond amazed if they refused to play on the principal of interest on loans, especially as Ben Arfa doesn't even fast.
It's ridiculous how much is being made of this, considering Wonga have already sponsored a Prem team.

This is just garbage press trying to get a story. Ba wore a betting company on his shirt at West Ham where was the outcry there? Different story for nufc as per.

Complete nonsense story.
None of the players ( Cisse,Ba,Tiote.Ben Arfa ) have commented on Wonga or refused to wear the logo, yet they are being critisized for bringing their religion into football.

I'm not religious but I can't stand Wonga advertising their 4000% loans, they exploit the poor or uneducated and put them in a financial situation they can't get out of. They're loan sharks.
I would be furious if my club struck a sponsorship deal with a loan company like that.

NUFC manager Alan Pardew wants his players to forget all the talk about the sponsor and just get on the pitch and give 4217%

As if Tiote Ba Cisse and Ben Arfa are THAT strict muslims that they wont wear a shirt with a loan company as their sponsor
Bet you they dont two figs about it.
