Done the right thing that the rest of them should have done....
Edu & Bocanegra

I wasn't impressed with the young lads tbh, but having also been in a position where I was waiting to find out about widescale redundancies at a company I worked for, the first thing I did was look for a new job.
Eventually turned out that I wasn't one of the ones getting punted and I ended up staying put, but if it had dragged on to the point where I had another offer on the table, like these guys were faced with, then I probably would have left too
Rangers weren't in any position to offer these lads any loyalty, so I can understand where they're coming from.
My problem is that none of the players are honest enough to admit that's what they did....
Still trying to claim to be diehard Rangers fans and that they "had" to go or "had no association with Green" and other such nonsense to try and keep the fans onside. I call baws to the lot.

I fail to see why people are bringing up your own experiences within employment as justification for the actions of Rangers players over the summer?
The only similarity is that both could be classed as jobs.
There is no way any of the players were stressing paying the bills or worrying about kids birthday presents or the likes.
They all knew they would get a new club if required, in no way is this similar to a punter being made redundant and facing up to a moribund jobs market with 2 million+ people competing for opportunities.
The likes of Naismith etc are pond slime and should never be welcomed back at Ibrox in any capacity ever. Rangers will recover and Naismith will no doubt attempt to reintegrate himself as a "fan" at some point, nae chance wee man.
Never to be forgotten what these guys did

A lot of these players took up to 75% wage cuts, saving the club a fortune. And then the club expects decent fees for them.
I'm sorry but you need to look after yourself.
The players are not fans, this is their profession, they have to ensure they work at the highest level they can for as much money as they can get. That's what anyone would do.

Westendger...you don't know that.
They may be earning thousands more than us, but they will also be spending thousands more.
Big mortgages, high maintenance birds etc.
They had also taken 75% paycuts for the few months leading up to fecking aff.
You might not have any sympathy for them for that, but the fact is they could very easily have been running skint. Just because they earn more doesn't mean it goes out any less fast than we fritter our wages away

Not buying that. Modern footballers are instructed to squirrel away their cash by advisors as come 35 they could be unemployable. There is no way established Rangers players should have been living for the next pay cheque unless they were gambling addicts.
The mortgage etc could have been rearranged, the 75% drop in wages was always a short term thing and only applied to the top earners. Banks would have known that these guys were good for it eventually, no way would Lafferty have been kicked out his house because he was loyal to Rangers.
High maintenance birds, every guy knows someone who has one of those, more fool them if they didn't have the wherewithal to stand up to their woman and explain that the 10 dresses a week shopping would have to be paused.
Of course it means it goes less fast. These guys had free motors, free fuel and got free meals when training. Everything that could be done for them was and i'm sure they got other perks from clothes shops etc to wear their gear (Cruise etc for example).
There is no way you can realistically believe these guys were destitute and had no choice but to leave!! If that were the case and someone like Naismith ( a supposed fan) had gone public with this do you think the RFFF would have sat back and not assisted.
They were at it, pure and simple.

" I hope Naismith does his cruciate"
Just Paysmith?
I hope they all do their cruciates. Starting with McCabe.

I think the main thing here though for a lot of players was that playing in the Scottish third division was simply not an option.
I can't blame them for that at all. Why would Steven Naismith an established international who could comfortably play for quite a number of EPL sides want to be playing in div3 and getting the $hite kicked out of him by part timers every week? It's an absolute no-brainer. The chance was there to get out of that contract (albeit on a loophole) and he took it. Who knows if clubs would have been willing to pay what Green wanted for him. It was either jump ship or risk playing in the third division. I'm a Rangers fan but you wouldn't have had to ask me twice to move to Everton or risk staying in div3.
