This is a Bonus Points Game !
As they say on Family Fortunes, you are playing for 'Big Money'. However, it is entirely optional. You can gamble or play safe.
At the bookies the odds are more favourable on high scoring games as they are less likely. So, with this game against Gillingham, if you predict a scoreline that has 5 or more goals and you get it right you can have 8 points (instead of the usual 5). Yes, 8 huge points !
Of course, if you may want to play safe and just predict 1-0 and aim for the 5 points that is fine. (If you take the gamble option and predict 3-3 and it ends 1-1 you would still get the 3 points for predicting the result of course).
I am going to gamble. Gillingham 4 Brewers 1.

Got a good feeling about this one
Gills 0 - Brewers 2
That said I hate the Gillingham away end stand - worst in the country!

Well as I'm down towards the bottom of the league and have got the result wrong the last few games I'll go for
Gillingham 5 Brewers 2 and sincerely hope the result is the other way around.

Gillingham 2 Brewers 3.
I am going for gold, 5 goals and a win for Burton.

I too fear that we are toothless without Zola upfront.
I'm predicting: Gills 1 Brewers 0 with us having shut them out and dominated most of the match with no end-product.

Another one where I hope that I am wrong. It would not surprise me to see us snatch a win after being under the cosh for most of the game. However, I think that the Gills will keep their great run going and beat us 2.1.

Gills 3 Brewers 1 for me.
Hope i'm wrong though.

Morning all. Well that was a lesson! What do I know about predicting results!!!
Gillingham were so good I was applauding their football and their finishing. An outstanding performance which Martin Allen hailed as one of their best ever. They out played us across the pitch but their midfield killed us - they won everything, especiall the second balls and constantly fed their wingers who battered O'Connor and McCrory, constantly getting in behind us.
There were a few glimpses of what we can do, at times we managed to create enough space to get a few shots on target - the Paterson chance at the end of the first half, I don't know how the defender cleared it!
At no time did I feel we were ever in this game. They got lucky with their first goal as it was never their throw in in the first place. Their second took a slight deflection off Kiernan which sent Tommo the wrong way and the game was over.
Gillingham is an absolut tip, horrible little town centre, grotty bars and a miserable walk up to the ground in amongst what I can only describe as a derelict housing estate!
That said their team is without doubt the best I have seen for a considerable time in the football league.
Need to get back to the training ground, get the lads ready for PV tomrrow, don't think I'd tinker too much with the team.

Thanks Derbyyellow, I am presuming you were one of the 58 brave souls who travelled to deepest darkest Medway!
Sounds like we got a lesson, but as long as we are creating chances then we must be doing something right!
