The Mikel-Ramires partnership is looking solid and promising, easily the best combo in the league.
What they offer is totally different...defensive midfielders; yes, but with different responsibilities in the holding role.
Mikel: Makes absolutely sure to break down the opposition attack, and offer protection to the back four.
Ramires: was absolutely wasted on the wing, but feels more comfortable now, in his natural position...often breaks away with his blistering pace, when the opportunity comes up.
In summary, not only do we have two solid holding players, but a box-to-box player in Ramires.
Long may this partnership continue!
Lampard, you're a legend, but it's time to move over for the next generation!
Mikel-Ramires partnership..best in the EPL?

I'm delighted with it as a partnership, I'll be honest at the start of the season I thought Ramires would be a victim of this formation, I thought he'd leave space but he has excelled. He still offers that threat as a runner but is efficient and times them well and has the energy to get back at the right time. Mikel has been very solid and is working hard. As a duo they seems to understand one another and tick along really well.
Those two layers of midfield 5 are really quite special. We've got a great keeper, good defence and squad depth, we look very strong.
Just need to add Falcao!

In all fairness i am not the greatest fan of Mikel (believe he is too defensive) but today was very surprised and pleased to see more head up from Mikel and some great passes forward and quickly. If he can improve that part of his game he will be immense

Lampard's a good squad player to have around, no need to get rid of him

Well I think you need a defence minded player alongside Ramires in a two.

Not sure if it's the best, but definitely not any worse than the likes of Sandro-Dembele, Tiote-Cabaye and the Arsenal and Liverpool trios.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now Bloodyblu, they both still have their flaws.

Spurs had ten shots on target today.............that suggests to me the Mikel/Ramires partnership is by no means perfect...
