When is the last time we won 1-0 in the league?

ARE - come on - surely you're intelligent enough to understand that shooting practise isn't the issue, that's just ridiculous. Simply Suarez, who gets the majority of the chances, isn't a natural striker and he has always, for every club he's played for got tons of chances a game. This is because he makes a lot of them himself.
The lack of proficiency is due to playing Suarez as the main striker, in fact due to having to play Suarez as a main striker after loaning out Carroll and Borini being injured.
It was exactly the same last season and no matter how much it slaps people up the face, they still can't see it.

It will be very interesting indeed to see what, if any, the two ex-ManC scouts bring to the table between now and 1.1.13 JimmyTheRed

I'm not sure what they're going to bring or what relevance being scouts of Man City bears as they never scouted young up and coming players, only signed well known players for massive fees.

Suarez was to blame for a lot of the poor finishing, but he obviously lacks faith in his team mates to put the ball away. He is still best wide in a front three but as we have said many times we don't have any strikers. It's absolutely lamentable how we got in this terrible state. As a rule if a top four spot beckons that team usually has not or or two but four top class strikers. We have a mountain to climb every game we play for that reason alone.
So yeah, on my original point practise can only do so much but that's all we have until January save for Yesil and Morgan stepping up. Luis needs to play for the team a bit more too.

Yes, I agree. The difference this season is that the team play is much more fluid and the wide forwards are able to support easier, as well as the midfield. However with no natural striker, it's a massive issue, as you say. Loaning Carroll out is still haunting us, as getting rid of Keane was, when we finished second, with no backup for Torres, when he got injured. With transfer windows, these issues are all the more important and thus we need to make sure we have the replacement in a Liverpool shirt before we sell or loan.

I am not sure that is true.
Kompany came from Hamburg, he was fairly well known as a prospect but he was only 22 and only cost £6m.
Boateng was another, signed from Hamburg at 21 for about £10m. Ok he was a bit of a flop, but he was still a young player for not a ridiculous fee.
Zabaleta cost £6m and was 23. Caicedo was another one, again he didn't work out but he wasn't a bad player.
They have signed a lot of complete players of course because they could afford to, but they have signed some younger prospects as well, as you would expect with young players they haven't all worked out.

Out of those four you named, two were well known players and two are crap, so I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Well they quite clearly didn't only sign well known players for massive fees.

Sorry - did we:
Finally win a home game?
Keep another clean sheet?
Dominate the first half?
Have loads of shots?
Cos, from some on here, it just sounds like that this was a really bad result for us!! Of course we lack confidence. Of course we struggled in the second half! How many of you were expecting the game to finish 1-1 or even worse 1-2? The players probably had the same concerns. Now that it didn't finished that way, they have a little more confidence for the next game at 1-0 etc. We are moving on and growing in confidence - I wish some of you fans would do the same!
