Champions League 2011/2012

At the end of last season I was already excited about this coming Champions League campaign, not just as an Arsenal fan but as a Football fan. I was anticipating seeing teams like Udinese, Borussia Dortmund, Lille and Napoli in the competition after having such successful seasons and boasting some real talented players.

But over the course of the transfer window I have become less and less excited each time a transfer is announced because they all seem to be coming from these teams that I was looking forward to seeing. Nuri Sahin, Arturo Vidal and now Alexis Sanchez have all been poached from their respective teams by the giants of European football.

I may sound slightly delusional as I am aware that we will still get a chance to see these players in the competition, but I wanted to see these teams that had showed so much promise, flourish in the competition, but there doesn't seem much chance of that happening now.

Saying that Napoli seem to be hanging onto their players and they have some real quality so I hope that they can do well in the competition and let's hope that Arsenal manage to get into the group stages!
