Passes
314

78.5%

Your both pathetic. Like I've said a 100 fooking times, if the rules had been followed to the letter of the law neither Stirling or Suarez would of been on the pitch to be brought down or have a goal disallowed. I've had enough of this sh-it,you're a pair of planks.

And likewise neirther would Howard, Jagielka, Osman and Fellaini.

in fact if the rules were followed properly I can think of at least three other derby matches when Fellaini should have been sent off. Again for petulant and cowardly kick outs

I see that Gerrard has now backtracked on his comments about Everton being a long ball team.

Interesting that the BBC article also says that the stats showed what the OP initially suggested - that LFC played more direct than Everton on Sunday.

Where did you get your stats from TOOR?

Gerrard has no doubt been 'advised' by the Liverpool PR men to do so.

The fact is he just said what we all know to be true.

it's simple really, 13.8% of 400 is 55.2, 14.6% of 314 is 45.8, so everton indeed played more long balls than us.

Any United fan who calls Gerrard a hypocrite need to look up irony in the dictionary.

Then look up blind, stupid, fool and Ferguson.

Yeh it is simple I suppose; if your team could have got the ball off them then you would have played more long balls.

Yes, the OP got his stats from BBC who tried to prove Gerrard wrong and therefore they used long balls which got to their target. However OptaStats the leading stat collectors in English football put Evertons long balls at 56(not counting goalkicks) and also said that their longballs were long puts forward in the hope the striker(who is actually a midfielder and like in the United game was pushed forward to win the hoofs) would win the ball and then the team would fight for the second ball whereas Liverpool's long balls were actually to get in behind the defence and across field passes. They came up with this after analysing the passes and stated that Everton are in fact the third most long ball launchers in the league, above even Stoke, whereas Liverpool are second lowest, behind Swansea.

Just goto Opta when you need stats as the BBC like all media twist and confuse stats to suit their agenda.
