Guillermo Rigondeaux is a fabulous talent, a great amateur pedigree as most Cuban do, and has looked very slick in the pro game too, unbeaten and winning a world title in his 9th fight.
He been saying he want a piece of Donaire, but has he done enough to deserve it?
He has not been in with any true top names of the division and while Donaire has been fighting champions after champion and Mares vs Moreno clash, Rigo has been on easy street.
But that may change soon as his mandatory for his title is Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym, and superb Thai fighter that dominated much of the division till he dropped a close decision to Ryol Lee a couple years back.
There is talk about the fight being on the 15th of December if terms can be agreed.
Certainly looks like a great fight, and who will come out on top?

rigo is one of the greatest talents ive ever seen, think he'll be P4P king one day,bit of a shame he's come in late in his career, id love him to step up to featherweight and fight gamboa one day

Think he beat Gamboa in the amateurs.
All well having perceived talent but unless you prove yourself in the ring it means nothing.
He needs a big fight next, a test, Poonsawat fits the bill and will be by far the toughest fight of his pro career.
No more Teon Kennedy's and Robert Marroquin's.
Super-bantam is a stacked division no point in chasing Gamboa now, plenty of super fights in the division that he is in.

It looks like this fight is on for December 15th, as the contracts have been signed.
This fight will either be the making or breaking of Rigo.
