CMS & Co V the Posh

After a disappointing reverse to Sheffield Wednesday, we could do with beating Brighton on Tuesday, despite their being win favourites.

If so, we'll need Craig to continue not scoring against the club where his heart really lies ...

No predictions this time - just, C'mon the Posh!

Trouble is that CMS appears to be on a roll and will do all he can to get a goal or two tonight. I hope he doesn't do so by "falling over" in Posh's penalty area. No, surely he wouldn't do a thing like that, would he?

Oh yes he would....

Oh no he wouldn't...

CMS to Radio Sussex:

Albion's next game sees them welcome Mackail-Smith's former club Peterborough United on Tuesday.

The Scotland international scored 99 goals in 212 appearances during his four-and-a-half year spell with the Posh.

"They've done really well over the last three or four weeks so it's not going to be easy," Mackail-Smith said.

"I just look at it as another game. I had great memories and great times there.

"I will shake the boys' hands before, but as soon as the whistle goes it's down to business.

"If we can perform [to the level we did against Leeds] I think we will get the three points we deserve."

Would've been better to lose 5-4, the good old days.

If only Posh could find themselves a decent experienced striker, one not too far off retirement and one who can still score goals, and is willing to spend a season or two helping Posh stay in the Championship.

I don't think that will happen Deacon Blue ("Ship of Dignity" - what a classic!) - it's against club policy to sign 'old' players. What a blow to lose last night's match in the 90th minute. Listening to it on the radio, the defence performed heroics and it was only an unlucky ricochet that gifted Brighton the goal.

"There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle". Those in charge at PUFC would do well to remember that. My wife does.
