I have just seen a robbery at the Pirelli and I am appealing for 1,988 witnesses to back up what I saw. We got a draw when we should have lost heavily. Very heavily.
Outclassed all game and how we are still in the FA Cup I will never know. I think the football that Altrincham played was a real joy to watch at times. Nice short passes and incisive, intelligent football throughout. Hoof Ball Albion were given a footballing lesson. Time and time again Altrincham went through our midfield and defence like a knife through butter.
Altrincham should have been out of sight at half time. A great penalty save and a good one on one block by Oxley sparing our blushes.
We played better in the second half but Altrincham hit the bar and a good one one one save by Oxley kept us in it.
Billy hasn't had a good game all season.
Weir was woeful - again. I would put Macca back in for him at the earliest opportunity.
Chapell. He might have put the cross in that earnt us a replay but he is just another lightweight winger in the mould of Jimmy. Why do we keep getting players of his ilk?
Maghoma was like the Maghoma from the Pesch days. In fact, it was a total Pesch perfomance.
Brewers 3 Altrincham 3

I have to agree that today was very poor but i have to note this was the FA Cup. Many a team in my memory has a day like this in the early rounds, seconds from exit and then a great escape followed by a good run !
Going slightly against the grain in that i feel the players should take great credit that they achieved a result on such an off day ! We are lucky in that we live to fight another day, it will be a different story at the Moss Rose ground !

Don't worry too much lads, just be glad you're not following my team. Outclassed by Macclesfield in one of our most absmal performances in many a year. On top of that a 4 match suspension for a stupid sending off (stupid by the player, not the ref!). Then a Canioman rant of the highest order blaming the whole team (usually he just singles out hapless individuals) and saying the whole shambles was nothing to do with him.
So, concentrating on the league now (joke!)

I get a little irate when i read some of the comments about our much improved team. This was Altys chance to cause an upset in the most highly rated domestic cup competition in the country. They came and played out of there skin and nearly Knocked us out.Ok the lads had an off day without naming individuals and we should take it on the chin and let them put it right in the replay.

Agree with most of the comments, the one thing we showed was character to come back from 2 goals down and then again behind so very late on to snatch a draw, I left feeling if we had showed up we would have won by a clear 2 goals, I'm looking forward to the replay!
Seems that injury time equaliser by Zola has earned us a few extra £s notice we have moved the replay to Thursday 15th November to accommodate the ESPN cameras so we will be live on the box.
GR has assembled a decent squad and we are performing well in League 2, for those chastising him after a poor performance I suggest you look at the good performances we have had under Gary this season, many more than the whole term with Pesch at the helm!
Come on you Brewers!!!

Interesting decision to put the game back to the Thursday. I don't know what say we have in the matter and I don't know what ESPN pay but we have 9 potential points to play for just round the corner. Dagenham (at home less than 48 hours later), Aldershot (at home on the Tuesday night) and Wycombe (away on the Saturday).
I hope the decision to bank the money does not backfire. Then again, I suppose at our level you need to take the pay days.
Or maybe that decision now picks the team for the replay. Justin, Adi, Ronnie, Jack, Cleveland and Co, polish those boots.

Someone told me today that we get £67,000 TV money for the Altrincham game (with Altrincham getting the same amount).

£31,000 pounds Otep the reported figure in our super duper Burton Mail printed two days before you read it.Then again you may be right going on the track record of our crap local rag.

It was a chap at work Emnez. I am not sure where he got that figure from. I did question whether it was £67,000 each or that figure between the two of us but he said each.
With either figure, it is more than we have ever spent on a player in terms of a transfer fee.
