The Poppy

Now, I know that this is a particularly sensitive time for many, and rightly so.

All over the country and further afield this weekend, many will pause to remember.

To remember those who laid down their lives in past conflicts - those from ALL SIDES.

I wear the Poppy as a mark of respect. Respect to those who came before & did not come home.

It is neither political nor some form of statement.

It is personal.

For those who disagree, for whatever reason, you have the freedom to do so, largely as a result of the sacrifices of those whom I & many others remember.

All I ask is that you show some respect. Some basic common human dignity.

If you have nothing good to say, say nothing. If you do not want to be involved in a minutes silence, go somewhere there won't be one.

And allow the rest of us the freedom to do this once a year.
