Saturday sees us go to our old league two rivals Crewe Alexander in the second round of the FA Cup, as im sure we are all aware .I wondered what some of you thought our chances were, after our poor showing in our last two games ? .Could we produce a shock result ,or maybe manage a draw ? ,with a night match to look forward too knowing who we would face should we win ! . I just hope we can get back to some kind of form that got us a win away at Leicester and a draw after 90 mins at Coventry in the previous two cup competitions . Zola and Bell im sure will be busting a gut to do well against their old club .Its a tall order against a team who look to have made the step up reasonably well to league one ,and without Zander at the back i fear for us .My prediction im afraid will be a 3-1 defeat ,hope im wrong !

Crewe are on a decent run of form at the moment and look to be an exciting attacking outfit. I think GR would be happy with a draw and take them back to the Pirelli, so I think he will probably spread five across midfield with one up front and 'hold on'.
With Zander out I fear the worse, but Holness is a more than capable defender and I think it all depends if our midfield decide to turn up this week, they have been noticeably absent recently!
Interesting game, and one I am looking forward to.

I saw Crewe in October, they beat us 2-1 but had 10 men behind the ball for all the second half. We really should have got something from the game. I don't rate them that highly, they're nothing like the team that had that late surge into the play offs last season.
I'd give you a good chance there so long as you don't sit back. Just go and stick it to them!

Good insight dontouchedmyboots into this seasons form, but looking at some of there results they will be a tough nut to crack, with our recent poor shows surely can only mean one result.
But we are talking about the Brewers who as Steve said did extremely well against Leicester and Coventry, so you never know.
I fell a cold and wet Tuesday night replay could be on the cards with Spurs awaiting the winner at the White Hart Lane.

Forgot to say...there's a good chipper in Gresty Road behind the Gresty Road stand. Home fans get their chips on the way in, there were two in front of me and the sight of them getting stuck in to their chips and gravy started me drooling.

I think if we go and defend we will get battered so lets see two up front and a good attacking midfield performance
Will now go looking for that chippy, thanks dtmb!

I hope we can have a good go at them and claw some pride back from our last two games. As we all know by now they are more than able to win, If they show up and GR gets his tactics right.
I have only been to Gresty road by coach before, but does anyone know whats the parking like around the ground?
COME ON YOU BREWERS

I expect you'll be approaching Crewe on the A532, Weston Road. Shortly before you reach the roundabout junction with the A534 Nantwich Road you'll see a sign pointing to the right, which displays 'Away Supporters On Street Parking'. This directs you to an industrial estate on the right of the road (you will also see the Volkswagen dealership, L C Charles on the front of it). It takes less than 15 minutes to walk to the ground from here. Otherwise at the ground behind the Main Stand is a pay and display car park which costs £2.50 for the day but this fills up quite quickly on matchdays.
When I went I approached from the west so I didn't use either of these...I parked in a side street off Bedford Street (off Nantwich Road), about 10 minutes walk to the ground from there.
Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks for the info dontouchedmyboots.
The car park at the ground sounds a bad idea for a quick getaway. Cheers.

Well, I said you had a good chance if you didn't sit back and it looks like you did stick it to them so well done!
How were the chips?
I hope you get a good draw in Round 3.

Well done Albion ! im glad i was wrong on my prediction ,this really was a turn up ,but then its the cup we had two ex crewe players battling out there , the bar and post coming to our rescue on a few occasions but still a well deserved win .Lets hope for a big club now away Man utd , Man city , Liverpool ,Arsenal ? Derby would be a game id look forward too also , but its all about finance so one of the big four or five please but it could be Harrogate or Hastings away !!!
