Murphy gifted it to Selby, just missed far too many balls. Selby played defensively and make it pretty boring to watch.

Is it just me or is Selby's wife a good 10-15 years older?

Good to see Selby win, anyway. The Luke Donald of snooker no more. A boring watch, though.

So, Mark Selby took it 10-6.

Can't imagine those last three frames were much better than what I saw earlier last night, but by the sounds of things it was a deserved victory.

Going to watch the highlights later from the final frames that I missed - anything to look forward to?

RWK - to be honest, not really. Selby made a good break (I think to make it 9-6), where it didn't look like he would clear, but it was still pretty dour to watch and not really the free-flowing snooker that both these players can produce. Just as total one clearance snooker can be boring, hard graft all the time can be also.

Sorry, that was to make it 8-6. In fact, I have remembered one amazing bit, and that was the missed blue by Murphy to let it go to 9-6. If you are old enough to remember Willie Thorn's missed blue against Steve Davis in the mid 80s, well for me this is worse, especially after a few stunning pots leading up to it.

Didn't miss a lot then. To be honest I don't mind a tactical battle every know and then but, the majority of "new" snooker fans come to watch players like Ronnie & Judd. I think any of the newer fans were watching last night they'd have been put right off.

I'm not old enough to remember that, no. I should be proud shouldn't I?

What time did it finish anyway? I saw the BBC report was on at around 00:30 last night so it must have finished before 01:00?

It didn't finish much after midnight if I remember correctly. For me, the ideal final is when they are playing well and making good clearances, and then towards the final few frames it gets a bit twitchy and they miss a few and the tension is really racked up. Unfortunately for whatever reason it appeared that the occasion got to both of them (I believe they are both good frames) and the twitchiness almost started from the first frame!
