Thank you Manchester City
We are now officially the second worst English team in history to compete in the Champions League.
Even with David Batty and Graeme Le Saux punching the head off each other on the pitch against Spartak Moscow, we still managed to bag 4 points from our 6 games
Ray Harford knew how to get results in Europe
Roberto Mancini
The worst ever...............

City are an embarrassment to English football right now.
I don't think they have any respect from any other teams either as we all know how they got there.

Spurs are nothing to English football absolutely nothing.
Come back when you win the league then contribute.

Go easy on City lads, they have only spent about 4 billion more than we ever did for these pathetic results..

All, City are an interesting case study. For years I really felt sorry for them and their supporters, constantly in the shadow of the other lot. Who has NOT read Schindler's excellent book "Man Utd ruined my life"? - brilliant.
Every twenty years or so they would create a magic team and win summat then go away and hide. Now selected in an opportunist but clever marketing ploy, they suddenly forget they used to be like everyone else, sometimes pathetic sometimes great.
I was lucky to have 2 years living in Manchester with the delicious weekly choice of Best, Law, Crerand or Summerbee, Bell, Lee. No wonder true City fans are down!
Their true fans know that despite megamoney it can all go wrong, the plastics will pout and stamp their feet, then go somewhere else, we all know that. True City fans are always welcome in our world, not just because of the common enemy but because we share a passion for suffering, as they are now.
We can relate lads, we can relate,
Duggy

Rams fan here to take the pi$$.
Your newly won title of "Worst team in the history of Europe" eclipses even our own "worst team in the premier league" title
Thank god that monkey is off our back.
Effing useless.

Chuffed for city this last few years and if they want to sign any of our players I'm all for it. It was always going to take some time in Europe but when they get it right they will be contenders.

Can't get on board with the City criticism given my intense hatred of Man Utd. At the end of the day if I were in their position I'd rather finish bottom of the group than 3rd, no pointless Europa League distraction and 100% focus on retaining the premiership.
Interesting as to whether english teams performance in general in the CL this season represents a shift in power. German clubs certainly seem to be on the rise which is impressive given (I assume) more money goes into the English and Spanish leagues.
Does Mike Newell's fastest hat-trick against Rosenberg still not stand as a record?

Newell's hat trick record was broken last season.
