From watching Arsenal last season that is. To be honest never known a feeling like this before the start of a new season but i am nowhere near as excited as i should be at this time of the year. Normally i would be counting the days down before the season starts and i can watch Arsenal. I think the feelings at the end of last season is still not going away and has left some bad memories. The players just gave up which is very hard to take as a fan. Sometimes you can understand if someone is not good enough and gets exposed for it but our players just gave up, The Stoke game was just awful stuff.
Their fans where laying into us and yet we did not respond. It was pathetic when you think about what happended at the ground the season before, yet the players looked like they could not care less. Also for the first time i actually got bored of watching us. Normally even if the results are bad we are fun to watch but it got very tedious towards the end of last season. The 0-0 against Blackburn at home was so boring it was unreal.
Sorry to be negative but i just can't shake this feeling about this current team and to be honest despite Gervinho's very good debut we have not brought anyone that fills me with instant enthusiasm. I suppose Ramsey and Wilshere have been two players to watch but other than that its same old, same old.
My question is, has everyone recovered after what happened at the end of last season or not?
Has everyone recovered yet?

Being good to watch again will be a start for me, then we can build as the season goes on.

I agree with the OP, I am not excited by the new season whatsoever, I am just expecting same old same old and prob a repeat of 06/07 where we don't fight for anything and are out of the title race by November.
Sick and tired of it, we all know where the money needs to be spent and where we are going wrong, all except Wenger.
We are 2 and a bit weeks away from our openning game and a vital CL play-off tie and still none of the needed signings have been made.
CB, LB, GK, DM all needed in order to challenge, with our current squad (assuming Almunia, Bendtner, Eboue, Cesc are the ones who leave) we are in trouble for top 4 let alone any trophies. Cesc won't be replaced, he will simply stick Ramsey in that position.

you kids dont know how good you've had it. In the 70's when I started supporting Arsenal we had a long wait. from when I started supporting Arsenal as a kid until I saw them win their first league title was 14 years.
I dont think they just gev up last year, there was more to it than that. I think they realised that the refs were not going to let them win the league and in games I saw I reckon they cost us 20 points with dodgy decisions. Think about the Newcastle game. They were kicking us up in the air an nothing was given but our players only had to brush past them and they got a free kick. Being given that much posession and territory is always going to make a huge difference.
Lets hope the FA get their house in order this year.
Football is corrupt from top to bottom and I give it one or two more seasons like last year before I reckon there will be a big public backlash as they realise whats happening.

This argument just doesn't wash with me.
We are not in the 70's now, we are not a small club and we are not prepared to be happy with top 4 every year.
We started the decade in dominant style and have fallen back from where we were in 04/05. Both in terms of squad quality and achievements.
It's not as if we are getting better or just had one off season, we have been getting progressively worse in terms of quality and honour potential, and at absolute best been going sideways.
If we were improving every season without winning I would be delighted, that's what I want to see, improvement, but it's been 6 seasons of bottling, squad deteriation, false dawns and alot of us have had enough.

You typify EVERYTHING that is wrong with modern football and fairweather fans.
If you had any decency you would apologise for being such a halfwit.
