Jeff Winter, the former EPL referee has learned that no charges will be brought against him for alleged remarks made on an online blog.
Winter was arrested under the new laws introduced in Scotland to tackle things such as football sectarianism.
Winter had posted a blog stating that the pope wore women's clothes and had a history of covering up child abuse.
Although this was in bad taste, it could be argued that this opinion is valid. Especially about the dresses.
However his wording around the abuse of alterboys is much more difficult to defend.
Overall what is everyones opinions on this legislation in regards to free speech vs stamping out sectarianism.
