Well even though I expected us to sign Lionel Messi in the January window, it now seems as though he has made an error of judgement by signing another contract at Barcelona.
This is disappointing in so many ways......................................he was an ideal foil for Defoe up front & would have also enhanced his reputation by taking advantage of GB's inch perfect crosses.
Not to mention learning how to take free kick's from masters such as Thudd & Clint.
Still he will probably realise his mistake by the end of the season, by which time we will have signed others in his place, such as Anelka or Sturridge!
On a separate note, I hear Turan is likely to leave Atletico Madrid in May. I really do think he would be a very good signing, especially if RM or Barca come calling for Bale. Christian Eriksen would also be another very good signing & if we can get a very good striker that would make us extremely dangerous going forward!

How far down the table would you have to go for Messi to guarantee the title in the Prem?
If either Manchester clubs signed him - guaranteed, think we'd all agree.

I reckon he'd turn at least 2/3 of draws in to wins
If you lost 9 I reckon he'd turn 3 of those in to wins and 3 in to draws too.
Enough to win us the league last season by that - it'd make us W29 D6 L3
