Leeds Utd 1-0 Wanderers LIVE match thread

Wanderers have the head-to-head edge over Leeds United, with 25 wins to 22 from the 60 previous meetings. 20 to 18 in the league. However, we have only won 7 times at Elland Road in 28 visits. That said, Leeds have not beaten Wanderers at home in any of their last three attempts.

These stats include 4 meetings with Leeds City FC, who were dissolved in 1919 due to financial irregularities - something their successors are no stranger to either.

Prior to this season's 2-2 draw at the Reebok (match report here: http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/2012/10/02/bolton-wanderers-2-2-leeds-united.html), thanks to a brace from Kevin Davies, the clubs had not met since 2003/4, when Wanderers did a PL double over the Yorkshire club.

A win today would take Wanderers above Leeds, who are currently 9th to our 14th in the league. Should Leeds United win, it will be their 1,000th home victory in league football.

Wanderers have scored 10 goals in their last 3 games.

Wanderers have thrown away an unrivalled 21 points from winning positions this season, but have mounted 326 goal attempts, the most in the league. Leeds have engaged in the fewest (204).

Sky says Leeds had 4 shots on target to our 3...

And 9 off target to our 6.

We had 51% possession. Hardly dominant, Mr F.

I feel like Hannibal Lector. The bandit has been devoured (with a nice chianti). Now it's time to Silence the Lambs.

I would recommend some of you read LH's fantastic comment on the first page of this thread - number 22.

It is a factual account of the last 18 months, written to a Leeds fan (Sir Kenneth Bates). It goes to prove that when you stick to facts and remove prejudice, our situation is hardly a surprise.

Try taking your love of BWFC out of the equation for a moment, read it and then come back with honest opinion.

Only the lambs will still be screaming!!!!!

The malaise under Coyle continued into pre-season, some truly dismal results, Coyle himself set a target of 2 points per game for this season, he averaged about 1.1. It was time for a change.

Finally CEF we can put this to bed as I am in total agreement with you

name me one good full time signing by coyle apart from holden and to a lesser extent eagles.that is the reason we went down and are struggling in the championship.in fact our best players apart from those 2 were signed by sam and megson.

No need for anyone to name you one benny, you've just named two yourself.

That's like saying, name me two reasons to stop smoking other than it will save me a fortune and could stop me from getting cancer.
