Greatest Leeds 11

in the last 30 years!! – in doing this, I realise the poor players we’ve had in the most recent times, who is your best 11 in a Leeds shirt within the last 30 years?

These are mine:

Martyn

Sterland…… Rio…… Woody….. Dorigo

Strachen…. Da Court…. Speed

Yeboah….. Cantona…. Kewell (those 2 years he had)

Chapman gets ridiculed by many, yet Allan Clarke is always highly rated

These are the stats

Clarke between 1969 and 1978 scored 110 goals in 273 games

Chapman between 1990 and 1993 (inc 2 on loan in 1996) scored 62 goals in 139 games

I wonder how many Chapman would have scored for Leeds had he been here as long as Clarke.

Lee Chapman was a great striker for Leeds United.

If Carlton Palmer was that bad would we have finished top 5?

And I remember Giggs saying Gary Kelly was his toughest opponent.

Are you seriously comparing Chapman with Allan Clarke? . The players of the 60s/70s team were unique in their greatness, and they shouldn't be compared alongside any player from any other Leeds era, who are nowhere near as good

Chapman was a really average footballer with zero technical ability, he could just about bundle the ball in the back of the net, thats it. He had nothing on the class and elegence of Allan Clarke, who was part of a great team that competed against other great teams, not the rubbish that Chapman played against

No Leedsforever but you are, I am merely stating that at the time he was with us his goals per game ratio was excellent, I fully accept they are different types of striker and played in different era's. I am saying that Lee Chapman gets a bad press from some when it is really not deserved.
