The 3rd meeting this season, the 2nd at Hudders..
Welcome Foxes.
Could this be 3rd time lucky for the Terriers !

many Town fans will be thinking, "It will be lucky", If we win.
previously,
2nd of October, Hudders' 0-2 Leicester.
That day was a one sided affair, Town only having 1 shot on target the whole game (2 off target) Leicester by contrast had 6 on, 12 off.
Knockaert with a brace, 30th & 60th. (13,821)

Then the Horror show for Town fans on the 1st of this month
6-1 to the Foxes, a resounding Victory that day.
scorers Woods, 6th & 24th.
De Laet 45th.
Knockaert...that man again, 49th & 51st.
Waghorn 76th. (25,913)

Arfield scored Town's consolation goal on the hour.

So. Head to head, Leicester are well & truly favorites for this one.

How did we get here,
3rd round, Leicester had a comfortable home win against Div 2 side Burton Albion.
Woods 3rd, & De Laet 21st were the scores that day... (14,463)

meanwhile Hudders traveled down to Charlton the Saturday after the mauling at Leicester the Tuesday night before, many, or should that be most Town fans were expecting the worse, But...
We won 1-0, Beckford scored the only goal.

Current form.
Last 8 league games as follows.
Leicester,.......................Hudders.
4 wins.............................0 wins.
2 draws..........................5 draws.
2 defeats........................3 defeats.

Home advantage ! hardly. having already been defeated at home by Leicester, & a run of 12 games without a win, & only 6 points from a possible 36, To say Town have problems would have to be an understatement

Grayson's comments of late have been less than inspiring to just about all Town fans, He has mentioned a 'lack of effort' & that some regulars could be dropped, ! Will this mean as some have suggested, a good few Youngsters being drafted into the 1st team ...At least Pearson won't know what to expect ....
Or is it a hopeless disguise, an admission that Grayson is waving the white flag as far as the FA Cup goes...& that he is going to rest players, & not risk injuries, so he has the strongest possible squad to continue our survival in the Championship.

By Contrast, Does Pearson see Town as a 'push over' ! & a perfect chance to progress to the 5th round, will he select a full top notch eleven to contest the tie, or will he too 'rest' players, Will we see both sides reveal 'knocks' & 'strains' to key players.... not Cat & Mouse exactly, but maybe Terrier & Fox !

Pre Match Pubs...
Hudders are a friendly lot, & Most pubs will cater for One & all, there will be a large Police presence, And the Pub opposite the South stand (where the Visitors are seated) ..'The Rope Walk' caters for ALL fans

Entry is a 'Tenner' !!! Yeah, 10 quid. (& 5 quid for all other age groups)
SO we will see a minimum of 4,500 Foxes,
But how many locals turn up, even at this cut price is hard to predict,
simply because the Football is so bad at the moment..

Let the 'debate' begin.
I reckon if Pearson could 'rest' Knockaert that would be a good start..For Town,
4 goals in 2 fixtures , he knows where the back of the Town Onion bag is...
Who's giving this one a miss...because it's a needless distraction from the League ?
Who reckons it's Just the 'no pressure' alternative we could benefit from right now !

One word of WARNING to the Foxes who have decided to 'infiltrate' the home crowd sections...because of the 'SELL OUT' allocation !
Mind your step
The amount of packed lunches, Flasks & paraphernalia that litter the aisles
is mind boggling,
Also, Don't be alarmed if you hear your own echo ?
It does get awfully quiet in there...

Hudders to start with a A Lee, L Novak combo up front, well supplied from both flanks by Wingers & over lapping full backs,
The Mid field will ebb & flow b'twix Forwards & a Backline... that continually catches Leicester off side just yards into the Town half,
No sooner will Pearson 'suss out' Grayson's game plan, when 'Larry' will implement 'Plan B' with 3 outstanding substitutions ......
..well you have to don't ya ? otherwise....

Town 1 - 2 Leicester,
15,278 (approx)

ball out wide and a cut back...defenders in the middle getting further back than needed whilst ball watching..enormous centre forward holds and mooches up to the edge of the box, alone, to pop the cut back in..
always say, defending is not a question of how near to your own goal you are.. Peter and others need to remember, pick up you man and stick with him, you know the ball is coming in, forget it and get shirt tight or even just get in his way????

btw, dont think anyone would ever say i had rose tinted speccs about town.. never...

simple fact is they had more of their "1st eleven" on the pitch at some point than we did.. pearson probably wont make that mistake again.. i suspect if the draw gives them/us a big one in the next round, the leicester owners will tell him who to "pick"...

If we get decent results against palace and derby, does lillis get the job?

posted on 26/1/13

No! Most teams push on with a new manager, yet 3, 4 weeks down the line we will be back to square one. Adkins please.

38years, take those rosé tinted specs off.
A draw was a fair result. If your lot had won it I also don't think to many city fans would have complained. But you do make some strange points.
1) regarding kasper and his diving for cameras? Seriously...the bloke makes top saves week in week out, probably has the best feet for a GK in the division, commands his box very well and works with his defense...the most amount of clean sheets in the league testifys this.
2) full lcfc side for 35 mins...no. Nugent and wood came on with exactly 28 mins to go. No Knockeart (4 goals against u this season), no James. Wellens Playin his firs game for us since April.
3) regarding challenges, your centre mid went straight throug Andy king yet no card was given, yet waghorns and norwoods weren't as bad yet both should have been booked.
4) players falling over to easy under a English manager? What a silly silly silly statement. Players from both sides put in good hard challenges and I didn't see any one from EITHER side falling over to easy!

Jeez, what's with all the fuss about Leicester fans being ungracious?

If it's about the Simon Grayson chant, surely that wasn't unexpected? He's well regarded around Leicester as an ex-player for the club, although granted his recent performances suggest why we wouldn't want him as a manager.

As for the game, thought you guys were the better side, particularly first half. We seemed to have confusion over our formation and weren't that aware of the game - an awful lot of ball watching from us gave you constant opportunities to counter, which you took advantage of. The pace of Dyer and De Laet got us out of trouble several times. Neither side played good football, but yours did show a lot more heart and chased us down. Keep playing like that and you'll be in no danger of relegation.

However, you should know that there were several players out there being given a chance today. All three of the guys we substituted (Wellens, Vardy and Waghorn) were very disappointing and can't have done themselves any favours today. The rest are going to have to show a lot more sharpness in the replay if we want to go through.

So yes, you guys deserved the victory on balance of play. We've had plenty of them in the league this season that have resulted in less than 3 points so I can appreciate the frustration. But that's football I guess. See you all in a week or two.

town unfortunately missed 3 gilt edged chances, Clarke headed over from 5 yards, then Novak misheaded while Schmichel was on his knees, from 4 yards out..and then vaughan had the goal pretty much at his mercy..and put it wide...oh,and Drinkwater kicked one off the line too....any one of those going in, Town would rightly have won the tie.

I enjoyed the match though, which is the whole point really...

Very pleasant suprise...
A draw ! yeah, I'm happy with that after our poor run of late,

Even more so when a few of you have witnessed a far better performance, & even of the opinion that we could..maybe Should..have been 2 or 3 up at one stage. All good.

Clearly far more effort was put into this performance,
Suggestions that Lillis was 'emotional' ..! And 'felt' like he'd been part of it...That's what we're after right ? Right.
Everybody being 'part' of a team effort.

Over reaction by Darn !
not a bit of it.
'It' has to start somewhere.. And, let the new bloke issue take care of it's self.. Focus. Lillis still in charge as of right now.. Palace next, You regulars will be able to 'report' exactly how this revival is taking shape..

Lets not forget...we as a team, have turned Saturday's fixture right round ! The 'stats' and performances against Leicester ..especially at the beginning of the month were woefull on our part, yet we went in at half time 0-0... & took the lead !!! They had to use their subs to maximize team strength to pull back that equalizer ..
I say... Well Done Town.
Same attitude at the replay, I for one hope we can 'progress' in this comp....

schmeicel will never be a top keeper.. he flaps and is intimidated in physical challenges.. simple..
rose tinted speccs???
we have our own "shot stopper"....in smithies who loses as many "physical confrontatiions" as shmeicel..

rose tinted speccs???? call it as it is, thats all, for or against town..

wellens went "down" 4 times, twice without any contact whatsover.. the subs were made at just under 60 minutes, as per the 4th officials report???????
