We all have our view on what is right and what is wrong in terms of what form of reconstruction we should go for.
What has kind of fallen by the way side is the fact that it is being done with basically no notice!
There is usually a 3 year notice period before a reconstruction of this type, which coincides with the usual length of a standard football contract. This notice period allows member clubs to plan and account for the changes in expected revenue.
Rangers for instance have players on contracts running into next year, where they would have been expecting to have 18 home league games with the associated gates.
Instead, we may have only a few months notice before being told that we will have only 17 home games. This is a reduction in income of over £500k. Im sure we will cope, but its not fair to just say 'tough luck, get on with it!'.
What if it threw a few clubs into admin? Even if a majority wanted it, but it unfairly damaged a couple of clubs, it should not be passed.
It is not fair to do reconstruction of any kind if enough notice is not given to clubs to allow them to accommodate lowering revenues.

SFL3 will suddenly, in a major sense, be rendered meaningless this season.
What's the big rush? Desperation?

As a fan i am intrigued to how it works but the idea that this plan is put in place just to pi$$ off Rangers or not to have the best interests of the member clubs at stake
------------------
Tafka, don't necessarily subscribe to that view as well but it is a kick in the haw maws to rush it through for next season. Not only for Rangers but the teams who finish 2nd to 4th in the Third Division. What happens to there play offs at the end of the season?
Surely Green is right that reform should come in after next season? Surely at the start of the season you should know what you are playing for? Is that not what sporting integrity is about?

I agree, it should not be passed until after this season, so teams can budget accordingly.
But it aint all bad if it pizzes off Chaz Green

Seems another Celtic man would agree:
“However the league must not be compromised by changing the rules during the course of the competition and these decisions should not be made on an ad-hoc basis.”
Peter Lawwell, Celtic, 22 April 2008
Might as well chuck this one in too:
“You can’t ignore fans. Any business which ignores its customers is doomed to fail".
Stephen Thompson, Dundee United. 9th June 2012.
