Flurry of bets on Poyet to Chelsea

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/8456100/poyet-to-chelsea-gamble

An interesting decision if this is the way we are going. However, I just can't see it myself, especially after the way Roman unceremoniously dumped Robbie.

Changing a manager at this time of the season would be madness. And with regards to Rafa (and whether you love or hate him) he should guide us to a top four place. Would Roman be willing to upset the apple cart once more this season?

Lets also not forget that Poyet also has a good thing going on at Brighton. They've just moved stadium, they're doing great in the league and it would appear that so long as he doesn't go off the rails, he has a fair bit of leeway from the chairmen and board.

I don't think he would take it, and to be honest I don't really want to see another player from our past ridiculed.

I never thought I'd say it but I'd rather we stuck with the fat Spanish waiter.

Also think a forceful manager would be a good influence on the players.

Mourhino I agree although they parted company because the manager resented the interference, which was considered to be essential. The other two I don't remember being anything other than lackies, when they were with us and have only been outspoken and bitter after they were sacked, when they felt that they had been betrayed and hung out to dry.

Scolari could be outspoken on occasion before he joined us, but I didn't see that with AVB whose managerial career when he joined us, was still near the beginning and he just seemed grateful for the opportunity and keen to please.

Obviously now his ego hurts and he can't help showing it on occasion.

I mooted this subject last week...with Zola as his 2nd...there's absolutely no telling what Roman will do..so a legend or two might just be the ticket
