Gus poyet

Not sure if already done....

Just seen on skybet that poyet is favourite for the permanent manager job. Although i think we'd all love Jose, poyet is my number 2 choice as he's done fantastic job at brighton and wilkins also said he could always tell he'd be a top manager one day, plus he has the chelsea link!

Thoughts? I'm just cautious that he's not a 'stellar' name and may therefore go be treated the same as RDM by Roman. But would have my backing none-the-less

i cant remember which manager it was with, but a while ago there was talk of Zola being number 2.

think that would work with Poyet?

Below is something I said on another thread recently that I still think to be the case.
-------------------------------------------
I can't see RA considering Poyet for the simple reason that Poyet was quite outspoken about how foolish he thought the sacking of his friend RDM was and I'm not sure that RA likes any form of dissent or someone that is very strong-minded (a la Mourhino) and won't do exactly as they are told, when they are told.

You only have to look at the amount of cherry-blossom poisoning that Benitez is currently indulging in to see, that he is determined not to say or do anything provocative or contrary to Club Policy that may prevent him getting the job.

For me Poyet may be perceived by those on high as a possible loose cannon, that would be an unnecessary risk. There is also the question of whether he is experienced enough also.

I would love to see Gus as our manager - however I hope he doesn't take it if offered as I don't want to see him treated in the same shabby manner as Robbie or even Ancellotti!

Haha it's strange how Roman has made us not want the managers we want! Completely understand where you're coming from!

6662, there's enough division between the board and supporters as it is, without the shame of treating another fan hero like a leper.

I'd rather we treated the likes of Benitez like that!

I just want a manager given the freedom to manage and select and change the team formation and personel how he see's fit. Not sure any of the last 4/5 managers have been given that license without risking their head.

Having a puppet dressed in a suit is getting tiresome.

I really can't see Poyet, not an Ambramovich guy at all. Doesn't have the CV or the recognition to be the face of Chelsea F.C the brand.

The only possible purpose Roman would have for hiring him is an attempt to get the fans rallied behind the club, which of course begs the question why on earth would he sack Di Matteo especially for Benitez in the meantime if that was a priority to him? But should this contradiction be true (i say contradiction as he seems incapable of learning or admitting from/to his mistakes), it only begs further questions....... like why not just give Jose the job for whatever he demands? (Think i'm right to assume money/FFP/etc is no real obstacle for Roman after 10 years of observation).

I'd be speechless if we brought Poyet in. Just like hiring Benitez was a blatant admission that the fans don't matter (the collective fan opinion anyway), hiring Poyet would be a blatant admission that we have absolutely no idea what we're doing or what we ultimately want.

Simone at Atletico will be who he goes for & will all end in tears as he knows f all about the prem league. If he had any sense he'd get Moyes in & give him total control, done a great job on a budget which with new financial rules will become even more important. The players at Everton give 100% every game for the full 90 plus minutes. Has developed Rooney,Barkley Baines,Coleman,Rodwell ect ect . poyet wont be interested why have 6 monthe then the sack on your cv
