Words to the effect that,
'Hoyle should send a delegation to one of the Bundesliga clubs to see how they operate'...etc etc.
I said that weeks ago.
Big Deal, It means NOTHING...because as yet, The penny hasn't dropped.
SO we have the sporting headline,
'Could the Prem League Learn from the Germans' !
Well Yes.
of course they could. Both on & OFF the field.
basic facts from the topic.
during the 11/12 season the Bundesliga had....
On average, bigger crowds, 34 thou v 44 thou.
Cheaper 'average' ticket prices.. 28 Quid v 19.50 !
generated revenue was 2.3 bn prem, 1,6 bn Bundesliga. yet operating profit was 68 million (prem) v 154 m (bundes)....
The Germans are clearly doing things differently, and on face value it seems to be working,
I'll ask again,
Couldn't we as a club, send out a 'team' of fact finders...cap in hand if necessary.. to learn/see if there are ways we could be doing things in a more efficient manner ?
even darn to making going to a game a more enjoyable event...
dare I mention bringing the prices darn..
creating terracing....(quit your negative response ! They have terraces, BIG TIME. They 'work' & a good proportion of the crowds there prefer them - They have a CHOICE)
MR Hoyle.
Send out a delegation, & lets see if we can learn anything.
We have nothing to lose.
& in fairness, The match day experience at Town, 'Ain't all that'.
'I told you so' Means NOTHING.

what we do wrong is we pay nothing players far too much money..
there are most certainly players who cover their wages and lots more...
the majority dont and when qpr pay 12 million and 100k a week for samba then you know that the premier league has fallen off the perch..
gareth barry 115k a week is undoubdetly the worst "investment" ever made since people bought into the "titanic"..
gary neville was honest when he said "nobody got up in manchester on a saturday and thought man utd are at home great, lets go watch gary neville"... He was very gratefull was his "ludicrous(hid word)" wage packet and never begrudged rooney, ronaldo or many others their "extra" money for bringing the crowds and the interest into the club..
stop paying stupid wages to average players is my advice, the rest of the world dont do it, thats why we have a massive influx of very ordinary foreigners into our game..the premier league benches have large numbers of "unknown" players on silly money, the last transfer window again saw a load of "names" that nobody really knows coming here, a good number are coming on the basis that we can "sort" out a work permit because they really dont meet the agreed criteria...
idiotic..

Yes.
Agree three eight.
However, the 'evil' financial system ..certainly the one that football operates under.. Wants debt, huge debt to be the 'norm' at each club,
So the revenue collected from 'interest' payments gives them an easy guaranteed income, It's all made up figures on paper of course, Just like fractional lending & the mortgage system, Most have to pay, or should that be 'buy', that loan thus making them slaves to the bank for however long for What..an imaginary figure on paper..
Thus...27 quid to watch Town..& we buy into it.
The annoyance, The Germans will no doubt be better paid on average than a Brit doing the equivalent job, Yet pay around 30% less to attend a game...meaning less of their income is needed for a Saturday afternoon, and there it is, having to 'work' less for the privilege....
The 'system' stinks.
The lower leagues are visibly suffering, the massed banks of empty seats show this.
The 'FA' will no doubt do a fact finding mission & look into ways we can get the English game 'back on track'.
we all know what's wrong, But it will take a 'delegation' to 'approve' the changes
The thread was just an opinion that as a club, couldn't Town be in there ...as an individual..
One step ahead ?
Oh well Fa ck it.
In true West Riding fashion, we'll mumble & grumble on eh.

Weeks ago? I've been saying this for years, bloody people jumping on the Bundesliga bandwagon these days and acting like they're experts!

'Weeks ago' in relation to 'our' club climate/dilemma & an obvious annoyance that the media, (BBC) had just the day before run a topic on the very same subject..
Jumping on the bandwagon ?
What...
Your 'bloody' bandwagon.....Years ago ?
It was a thread to ask 'why' maybe even promote debate, alas Jacko put up a thread the very same day which has taken off to great effect tackling similar but broader issues, which other posters have gladly patronized.. I'm ok with that.
So what's your outlook then Cas ?
