Pound for Pound

is Bale in the same league as MessI and Ronaldo????

or more of like Rooney and RVP category.

I think Arsenal don't have a single player of Bale quality

Pfft, world class is no longer the pinnacle. Now, all players aspire to be Bale class. Can Ronnie and Lionel do it?

i think bale has the potential to be that good but he wont ever achieve it playing for spurs. i mean Ronaldo plays for Real Madrid and Messi for Barca both have and will win countless trophies.

there are plenty of players you should never even think of comparing to Messi or Ronaldo....

Bale doesn't even fit into that brackett...

I agree, no player on the planet except for Falcao should be so close to Ronaldo. Messi is on his own planet so Ronaldo is 2nd. However Bale can be close to Ronny if he continues the class performances on a regular basis.

At club level Messi is miles better than Maradona.

Maradona still has the edge over Messi at international level though.

"Maradona still has the edge over Messi at international level though."

Delivering at the international level is the one black mark against Messi.

Depends how you look at the Messi International situation. Maradona was a World Cup winner and his outstanding performances in 1986 earned marked him the best player in the world tag. He scored 34 goals in 91 games in a career spanning 17 years. Messi has bagged 31 in 77 games in 7+ years, which is no poor record in anyway. 3 more goals and he's already equaled Maradona's record. But he hasn't shone as brightly at International level as Maradona did.

But having watched Maradona play back then, I still opt for Messi as the greatest I have ever seen.

I look at the likes of Pele, Maradona, Cruyff etc, and see players who delivered for both their clubs and country, often single-handedly.

That makes them more complete to me than Messi.
And takes nothing away from the current brilliance of Messi.

RDBD, I never got to see greats like Pele and Cruyff mate, but until Messi my absolute favourite was Zinedine Zidane. A player who produced the goods for both club and country, an absolute legend in my eyes. But there is something magical to Messi's game that excels him from every player I have seen, which is why I personally put Messi as my all time favourite.
